Description: About Us Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world. As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico. A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team! Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.

“too long of a wait”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

I wasnt too thrilled about the setting, food or wait. I dont like to talk bad about places to discourage people from going but I do give people & places the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it was just bad timing, idk. The fish was not good, in fact it was mushy. I just ate the shrimp and chicken & that was good. Maybe you might have a better time.

“Fried Seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

We had to take it to go, but the look of the line waiting to be seated said a lot. Talked with someone else waiting for a to go and he told me that his family makes Dirty Al's a part of the trip to South Padre Island. Good Fried Seafood.

“Pretty good if you like fried seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

Fun location right next to the docks where the dolphin watch and snorkel boats go out to the lagoon. We ate lunch and then went out to see dolphins, very convenient. The food was tasty and not expensive, I had a fish and shrimp basket. 6 pieces was plenty. I prefer that when a restaurant lists 'fish' on a menu item they also list what kind of fish it is. Had to ask, it is flounder. That's fine. The shrimp were large ones. My wife ordered the shrimp po' boy, more than she could eat. Skip the bread, just get the seafood.

“Good Ole' Greasy Spoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013

This is where you go for the basket of fried something outta the sea that you are craving. The giant tray for $40 was served to many tables around us and gobbled up We are not all seafood lovers, so we opted for different things. Friendly service, although not the fastest.
