Description: About Us Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world. As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico. A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team! Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.

“Best Fries On The Island”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Had lunch here and at first was put off by the rustic atmosphere.
The food changed all that though. I had the fish basket ( which was flounder). It was great and you got plenty of it. My husband had the shrimp basket and could bearly finish it. A great place for lunch or casual dinners.

“Go for the seafood....enjoy the experience.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

Enjoyed a late lunch at Dirty Als. The seafood was very fresh and tasty. This is a great place to go for a casual lunch and some beers! Try their deep fried pickles....they were awesome. The cost of lunch was reasonable. This is a "fish and chips" kind of place. If its "Shrimp Scampi" that you are looking for then go elsewhere.....otherwise, go experience Dirty Al's. This is the kind of place that you have to try out when you are at South Padre Island. You will regret it if you don't try it out.

“Shrimp Lover's Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

I was amazed at the quality and quanity of the shrimp bontana platter. Yum! Myself and 4 friends sampled this at my last visit to South Padre Island. The $38.75 price was very resonable for enough shrimp to feed 4 people with leftovers. Service was fast and friendly.

“best seafood ever!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

Dirty Al's has the best fresh seafood I have ever had. Modest pricing. We (our family) had 7 entrees with beverages for $100, tip included. Fast, friendly wait staff. The shrimp are fantastic. Not everything is deep fried, my husband loved the blackened seafood! Not fancy, but great food.
