I booked my reservation on hotels . Com as I arrived hotel appearance was nice some construction going on... room was a 3 bedroom 3 bath
Hot tub was not working at all asked if it could be fixed was or moved to another room never even given answer... Sofa sleeper collapsed was fixed after 5 hours ...Faucet in kitchen sink not working properly... Don't even try to move beds very dirty under the beds ... Cleaning lady said she couldn't clean under beds
Too heavy.. Would try other hotels
Before I stay here again !!!

We moved here from the LaCopa next door and it was the best voice I ever made. The place is not perfect but we really enjoyed staying here. The staff was great, they helped us bring groceries to our room and picked us up from the parking area with a 6 person golf cart. We were allowed in early to Change and enjoy the pool while our room was being tournedos over. If we return to SPI we will definitely stay here again. We were also upgraded to a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo.

This 3 BR 3 bath unit was laid out very nicely on the beachfront, however, the maintenance is horrible. The sink faucet is not screwed down and falling out of the hole and you need two hands to hold it in place in order to turn it on and off. Two doors inside were locked so we had to call the front desk to have them opened. Then we had to call them again to get a sink stopper so we could fill the sink with water. The kitchen has bare minimum pots/pans/dishes and the dryer does not work. It is so noisy - like fingernails on chalkboards - and after an hour or so when the clothes are not dry you then need to spread them over all the chair in the place over night to get them dry. Makes you feel like you're at the coin laundromat with all the clothes drying around you. The WiFi is basically not working so we had to get the name and passcode for the neighboring property and use theirs, which is slower than dirt. The best thing about this timeshare is that almost no one else is here so we have the hot tub to ourselves, and it is warm enough since the pool is unheated and cold.

Room Tip: Beachfront in Building A would be the best choice.

I do wish to apologize for your adverse experience while at our hotel. We had upgraded you from a standard oceanfront view room to an oceanfront 1692 sq ft 3 bedroom condo in hopes of having offered you a more comfortable stay. We are actually in the middle of our spring improvement program and regret that you had some issues with your bathroom faucet and wish your clothes dryer. We have since replaced these items and are in the process of upgrading our wifi signal as well. I hope that you will give us a chance in the near future in order to be able to demonstrate the significant improvements being made at our relatively-new property. We thank you for your feedback, as well, as this helps us to identify opportunity for improvement.

My wife and I are completing our third visit and second winter at Peninsula Island Spa and Resort. This last two month stay has resulted in a three month reservation for 2014. Even though we regret having to be away from our home and family, the Peninsula Island Staff have become so close and the gulf climate makes such a life changing diference to our health and disposition we have no choice but to spend the winter months at the greatest resort on the island, the Peninsula.

Room Tip: The two room units are great even for a couple.

Some of the previous reviews were a little harsh over all it was not a bad deal for the money, the location was an A plus and we had a studio king on the 4th floor. The only ice machine was ion the second floor in what they referred to as the laundry room which was a run down room with a table full of tools, no laundry. Pool area was very nice with nice lounge chairs however water was very cold including both of the spas. Complaints about parking lot not really valid, you can drive up the walkway where they do have some handicap parking, also did have golf carts. Biggest complaint was package bought through travel zoo included $50 spa credit on all spa services of 1 hour. My wife made reservations for a 1 hour massage and then got a call back 1 hour later and said the 1 hour massage was $95 and she had to use the voucher for something worth $100 or more. I know its only $5 but it is the principle of the thing and therefor I would never return. However my wife may argue with me on that in that she said it was one of the best massages ever.

We thank you very much for your fair and balanced appraisal of your stay at our property. I apologize that the hot tubs were not heated on the day that you attempted to use them--I recall one day that we had dedicated to maintaining them, replacing motors, and deep cleaning them, but otherwise the hot tubs have been functional throughout the year. As for the spa credit, we do apologize for the confusion: the credit was toward an hour massage, and should have been applied without having to exceed any extra amount. I will investigate the confusion and promise to extend this spa credit again to you on your next visit, so your wife (or maybe this time yourself?) may enjoy another great massage. Happy travels!

Like all island hotels and condos, you can find evidence of the damage done by the high humidity and salt water on some exterior portions of the property... But overall, they seem to maintain the place well.

Stayed in a studio room with two double beds, pull out couch, table and kitchenette. Everything in the room was well maintained and there was no mildew smell that is common at many island hotels. Kitchenette included all utensils and plates that might be required.

Unfortunately the pool and the hot tub was not heated and unusable this time of year. Because it is the off-season, I was not surprised that the pool wasn't being heated, but was disappointed that the hot tub was the same temperature as the pool.

Overall.... If the price is right, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here anytime.

During your stay, one of two of our public hot tubs was in the process of having been upgraded, and therefore was not functioning. However, the other hot tub has been operational, hot, and frequently used during the occasional cold front that we've gotten this winter season. We hope that you will visit with us again soon so that you may witness the improvements first-hand.

We got a deal mid-week deal from Travel Zoo and the package included a $50 food and $50 spa credit. Used both but they don't tell you the Spa treatments cost $100... food choice was very limited.

Long walk from parking lot, the staff was nice, but not enthusiastic. We were told our room was not ready for check in, we asked if we could just stash our luggage until the sheets and maid service was done... they agreed. We walked up (Elevator was inop or very slow) and found a repairman in the room lavatory. The towel rack was missing and he was cutting large holes in the wall to repair. We left and went to the pool. When we got back, room was tidy, but rundown and the drywall repairs were done but looked like a first time job that a child attempted. This was the first clue this place is not being maintained--look around everywhere and you'll find broken items, doors, pool tiles, window shades... it goes on and on. If a large upper end chain buys the place and with a facelift and good repair...it could be a gem.

This place was a ghost town, we saw maybe 10 other guests and no one during the limited hours of the on site restaurant.

Overall, not a 5 star hotel--maybe a 3+. It was nice "enough" for the deal we got. I saw a large For Sale sign on one of the towers--I think the bank is just biding time and no capital improvements are being done. AC was icy cold a night (either its on or off) and room had a musty smell, again, low upkeep and sub-par maintenance is slowly eroding a once 4-star hotel.

I would like to apologize for your less-than-stellar stay at our resort. During the winter months, when the area is less active, we try to our best to implement a thorough maintenance program, which is particularly important due to the marine climate we are located in. Unfortunately, some guests can leave behind damages, and then it is incumbent upon any hotel to repair and ready the room in time for an arrival. Typically, we store luggage and do not allow entry into the room until it is completely ready, and apologize for our front desk clerk havind done so in this case. As for the "For Sale" sign, that belongs to a private condo owner selling his oceanfront unit. SPI has multitudes of condominiums, and, at times, private owners tend to sell them. Otherwise, I ask you to try us again soon, and promise that you will see some improvement!
