Loved the Hotel. Very clean, organized, and the staff is great. Breakfast good. Pool very clean. Excellent location. Walks on beach right out your door.

Room Tip: Rm 124 has blocked view of sunrise.

The staff is super. We have stayed here before and we were welcomed by the management and staff like old friends. The rooms are clean and well maintained. We had a room overlooking the pool/beach/gulf and loved the location. The inn has direct access to the beach and has a very nice patio area with pool/hot tub. Several resturants nearby (one next door is really good) and if you like shrimp, nearby Daddy's has a great shrimp salad. We loved it and plan to return soon.

Room Tip: Recommend rooms facing the gulf/pool.

I booked this hotel because reviews said it has excellent beach access. It does have excellent beach access; go out the back door, cross the patio containing the hotel's small swimming pool and go down about ten steps and you are on the beach. But ... the rooms have mildew - my gf coughed all night the first night so we asked for a different room. It, too, had mildew but not as bad. Still, we had respiratory problems the entire stay. There are other problems - for example, one of the two elevators was broken down most of the time. For the amount of money they make here ( I assume; the hotel's parking lot was completely full over the weekend) I'd think they would take better care of it. BTW, the continental breakfast is ... maybe a good place to feed your kids, that's all.

The swimming pool and hot tub were overcrowded most of the time.

Being far away from the main town did present some difficulties, that I will cover elsewhere. Does the remote location mean a less-crowded beach? I don't know, but when what appeared to be a class trip of middle schoolers showed up, the beach was what I would call crowded.

I will not stay there again. If you can afford a more expensive hotel, stay at the more expensive hotel.

My husband and I recently stayed here for four nights. We had stayed here several times before over the last few years going back to when it was brand new. We found that several things had changed on this trip. The fun Happy Hour was discontinued. Several features listed in current brochures had been discontinued. A discount golf coupon was no longer available. The complimentary breakfast was not up to usual La Quinta standards. Bagels were like rocks, no eggs, etc. It was very hot and humid in the hallways and breakfast area. The desk staff was adequate, but not too interested in being helpful. It is still a reasonably priced place that takes pets and it is right on the beach. With a little effort, I think it could be the better value that it was before. We were a bit disappointed.

The hotel was nice enough, a beach front property with a nice pool and beach. The free hot breakfast was nice, but the lobby area was very crowded during breakfast. However, the maid service was terrible. After our first night, our room was not cleaned at all, and we had to request clean towels for the next morning. After the second night, we spent the day on the beach. Returning to the hotel at 3pm, our room still had not been cleaned. We complained to the manager at the front desk, who asked someone to clean the room in about 45 minutes after we had a chance to clean up after being on the beach. Housekeeping came about 10 minutes later, and she did not speak any english. When we asked her to come back a little later, she didn't understand and came right into the room. Also, the next day the battery in our smoke detector died, and we asked for a replacement. We left and returned about 7 hours later, and the smoke detector was still chirping. We asked the front desk for a new battery, and the maintenance man and manager came to our door. They explained that they did not have any batteries, so they came and removed the smoke detector! I have stayed at other La Quinta Inns before and am generally pleased, but will never stay at this one again.
