Reviewed May 29, 2012

We did the tandem parasailing adventure with Sonny's and loved it! Friendly staff, good prices. Easy to get to.

We used Sonny's for both their chair and umbrella service and to go para-sailing. We were on the beach looking for a place to set up for the day. There was no one arround and I notices a large beach box with Sonny's phone number, we dailed the number and 10 minutes later we have 4 lounge chairs and an umbrella, all for less then $40. This was a the beginning of a great day at the beach.

We also had our first para-sailing experience using Sonny's. A++

The driver and the employee sitting on the back thought it was funny to drive us at extremely high speeds then turn hard causing us to constantly flip and slam into the water. We are in our late 50's and asked if we could please only have a ride, go slower and not get flipped.
So they rammed it up faster, while the employee on the back was hot doggin. They turned sharp and we went slamming at full speed into the water. The back employee body slammed into my head causing a concussion. The lady at the shack was a rude shrew who Refused to talk with us. We didn't ask for our money back, we just wanted them to know how dangerous they were behaving. I am still suffering with pain in my head and neck.

We went para sailing with Sonnys in the gulf, The boat and boat crew was safe and curtious the equipmnet was in good shape my son who is 8 and myself got to go up together the time in the air seemed really short for the money but we still had a good time. After you pay you are told to go down to the texas flag on the beach and wait there, we went down to the flag and waited and waited the beach crew really lacked, just look for a few people near to the flag under an umbrella they are who you have to talk to. after that you get in a rubber boat on the shore and they take you to the para sailing boat and you have to change boats then go para sailing. It took about 1.5 hours for 3-5 minutes worth of fun and this was during the week without a crowd. but if youve never done it you gotta try it at least once.

Our group had a great interest in parasailing. I studied the offerings on the Island via Internet and decided upon Sonny's. It proved to be a big mistake. The ride went almost nowhere and had no dipping. Everyone was bored and agreed it was a waste of money even if it had been at 1/2 the price. Make better use of your time and funds and go elsewhere.
