We sailed with Southern Wave this December and had a great time. Since it’s slow time on the island, they were only offering the sunset cruise, but they offer other cruises during the summer and I suppose are much busier.
Our family was debating between horseback riding (which we’ve done and was almost twice as expensive), so we opted for the sail. We were warmly greeted by Lettie the hostess at arrival, and we boarded the boat with five others, plus four crew members (Captain, hostess, cook and Matt providing music). We took a spot at the front of the boat and were quickly underway. After about 5 minutes, my oldest daughter was exclaiming that we really made the right decision.
The boat sails in the bay and at this time of year they hug the shoreline so it’s very smooth and very relaxing (just know you’re going to always stay close to shore). Matt kicked up some nice “sailing music”, and the grilled shrimp were out in no time and very nicely done. We opened a bottle of wine (BYOB), and laid back to watch the birds fly and fish jump. About 30 minutes into the trip, they served beef/chicken fajitas which were also nicely done. (Having a dedicated cook has its benefits.) An hour into it, we turned around near Parrot Eyes and spent the next hour just relaxing—the music made a big difference and Lettie saw to our every need. Overall, it was a great two hours that went by far too fast. I would definitely go again.
