A quiet, meandering stroll along this boardwalk started the day great. It was nice to get away from the crowds and enjoy nature the way it should be.

My family enjoyed walking along the boardwalk and looking at the wildlife. The kids were hoping to spot an alligator -- although we did not, they spent a lot of time debating all of the animal tracks that we saw. No one else was there when we stopped by on a holiday weekend. Very pretty and quiet location.

Top notch boardwalk! You see a wide range of wildlife: fish (hundreds), crabs, birds, and the allusive alligator. They have covered areas so you can stop and get cooled off a bit. It even has a bird dictionary out on the pier so you can know what birds you are looking at.

This is accessible from the nature center or the convention center and makes a full circle. Can take 20 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on your interests. We spent about 40 minutes, but I would've likes to stay longer...but the kiddos were ready to go.

A $5 donation gets you inside where there is a 12 min video describing the area wildlife, a gift shop, nature exhibits, an observatory on the 5th floor, and access to the boardwalks over the marshes.
The buliding is new and beautiful. The staff is helpful. The obseravtory is nice on a clear day.....
The boardwalk is the best part. It was very clean considering the number of birds that hang out here. We saw crabs, fiddler crabs, turtles, fish, more than a dozen types of birds and an alligator! It was great. I'm not an avid birdwatcher, but many of the people here were, and brought their huge cameras. This was a relaxing look at the local plants and animals......
