The only negative is this is an exterior corridor hotel, which I tend to avoid when traveling alone. However, I was so tired from traveling, the bright smile and quick service at the front desk cheered me up - and the room is completely renovated.

We were traveling East to San Antonio and hotel rooms in this area of Texas are hard to find due to the oil surge in this area. High demand and low availability of rooms equals high prices. Location of this hotel is excellent, just off I-10 though there was a construction detour. In this hotel layout all rooms are facing the outside toward the parking lot.

We arrived after midnight and the check-in was efficient and quick. The hotel was at capacity so finding a parking spot was challenging. Our room was located on the lower level, and was large and appears to have undergone recent renovation. Furniture was modern, king-size bed with plenty of high quality pillows and an excellent mattress, plus flat screen TV, coffee maker, and a well-appointed large bathroom. Let me emphasize too that housekeeping is doing an outstanding job in cleanliness. Seems that management of this hotel is excellent.

Breakfast included with the room was very good with a nice variety of items, hot and filling. The only minor concern that I had was that the AC in the room was off upon our arrival and temperatures at this time of year in Texas average in the high 90's, so it took a bit to cool down. My suggestion to management is to leave the AC on when the rooms are reserved, but overall, I will recommend this hotel to other fellow travelers.

The property is situated just off the Interstate.

It was clean and modern. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. There was a Mexican diner just over the road. The breakfast was standard fare but good.

We used the hotel as a base to visit the Caverns of Sonora (which were well worth a visit).

Recommended for an overnight stay.

Motel is located a block off the freeway so traffic noise was light. Desk clerks and staff were friendly. Rooms are all outside entry; expect to be awakened by engine noise from travelers leaving in early morning hours. Amenities are typical of most every Comfort Inn. The room was clean and everything worked. No problem with internet service. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Small exercise room had treadmill, bike and elliptical. Breakfast was typical of this class of motel. The room rate is higher than normal but there are few other choices here or within 50 miles.

Room Tip: Stay on the ground floor; not sure there's an elevator.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Nice and well maintained gym equipment. Complementary breakfast is good. Very reasonably priced. Overall, I'd stay here again. A couple of things that weren't the best: Sonora is in a valley so cell phone reception ranges between barely OK to not available, this hotel is more of a motel with the rooms opening directly to the outside. Also, I ate at the Sutton County Steak House for dinner on one night and La Mexicana on the next night. The steak was OK (salad bar was poor), and the food at the mexican place was barely OK (need a better cook). Also the tortillas were not made fresh but store bought (looked like Mission flour tortillas).
