Stopped there for lunch on our way to Austin, and ordered brisket, turkey, ribs, and sausage to share among the family. All of them tasted great and full of flavors. We did not put any sauces on them. I particularly liked the turkey and ribs, and the kids liked brisket and turkey. To me, the brisket is a little dryer, but the turkey is moist. The cream corn is tasty, but a little too sweet for me. Overall, I think this is the best BBQ ribs and turkey I've ever had. They also have online ordering, so will try to order online and see if the flavor stays the same.

We did "take out". Quantities, prices, and service were great.

Somewhat pricey but consistently good quality BBQ. It get extremely crowded here in the summer and to go orders are getting to be a more popular choice because of that.

The food is decent but not great. It smells alot better than it tastes. A little overpriced. About $10.00 per person. The creamed corn was very good. Potato salad was obviously canned. Beans, OK. Chopped bbq is a mix of pork, turkey, and beef. (Strange combo) Did not try it, or want to. You may as well through a chunk of fish in the mix. No buns for the sliced brisket. Just white bread. You order by the pound, (meat market style) not by the plate. No real menu. Very confusing if you have not been there before. (You have to estimate what weight you might consume. Instead of portioned out for you) I was suddenly trying to figure the mass of a pound of meat. How much mass in a pint and quart. I want to eat, Not do math and stomach capacity equations. All meat is sold by the 1/4, 1/2 and 1 pound portions. You have to eat off paper. They have figured the absolute cheapest way to get the food from behind the counter to your face. Atmosphere is good. Smoked turkey is very good. (smokey) On a better note, They are the only place around San Antonio that has Frostie root beer. Most likely will not be back, untill I forget how it is there. May qualify as an odd rest. But not a great BBQ experience.

Rudy's is a Texas legend in BBQ. Attached to a gas station on the I-35, it is authentic BBQ at it's Texas BEST. Customers order by the pound, and eat off no-frills butcher paper and paper bowls. Eating outside on picnic tables offers you an authentic out west experience. ANYTHING on the menu is excellent and samples are free! Always get the creamed corn!
