Always enjoy the ponies and we enjoy simulcast betting on greyhounds at the Palm Beach kennel club. We are certainly not big bettors but it a fun evening that costs next to nothing if you stay in the $2 bets.

We sit upstairs in the club where there is a non-smoking side. We always order dinner - they have a wicked shrimp plate. My husband wins and I lose but we have a great time

This is one of San Antonio's best kept secrets. Free admission certain nights, $1 bets, inexpensive food and drinks. It is a great way to have a fun evening for very little $$. We spent a little more and went to the 5th floor enclosed air conditioned club level for dinner. Buffet was just OK but the view was great and there's a betting window right there so you don't really have to move. Waitresses bring you drinks (@$5). A great evening.

This is the place for those who love to watch the horses race and can't resist placing a bet or two. They have live racing at different times of the year, so you will need to check and see if you are visiting during live racing or not. They also have races simulcast racing year round and betting is a breeze. There are restaurants on each level and the fun is pretty good, although it can get expensive for what you get.

We had so wanted to love this place but NO. Our first and only visit we had invited a large group of friends for dinner and then an evening ''at the races''. OMG ! I have never seen such filth in my life, Bird droppings covered everything outside. Two thirds of the monitors were broken and they too were coved in droppings. The restrooms were only dirty. It was an awful evening that we cut real short. I have heard that the track is being bought out and will have new owners. I love horse racing and will go back ONLY if someone drops a ton of money on up-grading this place.
