First we have been going to this restaurant for many years but no more. Maybe it is because we were the occasional patron that we see their demise so clearly. In the past we have enjoyed this place because their food was good and due to no liquor license, you are encouraged to bring your own wine. So when we took our son this past June and experienced a number of things go wrong, like no air conditioner, bad food and two surly cashiers we contacted the owners to make them aware. The wife was very grateful and insisted on sending us a $50 gift certificate. Well last night we finally used it and all I can say is other than their name, there is nothing Italian about this place. Even with the mostly free the food it was not worth the time or gas to get there. They have never offered service (it has always been self serve) and they have always been on the high side, but now that most of their dinners are $18, their food is garbage! Six dollars for garlic bread that is only toasted bread with some type of grease on it- no garlic, you have got to be kidding me!?! All three meals were awful, mine was so awful I had the busboy throw it away, so awful we even passed on the offer of free deserts. This was so bad I have no intention to see if they ever improve, may the Italian Café rest in peace.
