So, a long long time ago I worked at the most wonderful Smoke Pit.. Sooo glad to hear that Marie is still going strong.. Also I wish the best for that Mister John Frisbee... My mom and I both worked there in the early 80's and I hope that things haven't changed too much cause the food was always fantastic and maries bbq sauce was some of the best have ever had.. Only 34 but I can still rember like I was 11.. mmmm . give it a try you might just fall in love with bbq all over again..

hiya john.. you still see Chip and Adrianne? mom is wondering..Melody

In town on business and had read the other reviewer's comments, so we thought we would be adventurous & go try out the catfish since it was a Friday night. We decided to go with the Family Fish (To Go Only) Package (Catfish, Fries, & Coleslaw) for $14.99 suppose to feed 3-4 people instead of the Catfish plate at $7.50 per person and the Bread Pudding for dessert ($3.50 for a pint). The coleslaw has a sweetness to it and it is good coleslaw. The bread pudding wasn't bad; kinda tastes like french toast but you might want to skip the sauce provided with the bread pudding it is more of a lemon pie filling rather than a nice custard-type sauce. The fries are your typical crinkle fries that have been oven-baked and the finally the catfish is coated in a peppery/spicy cornmeal coating. If you like spicy then it might be right up your alley but I have to warn you that you might find the fishy taste a little bit too much to handle with the spiciness. Also, the tarter sauce is also a hot spicy concoction too. They do offer an all you can eat (dine-in only-no sharing) Catfish dinner for $12.95. Boy are we glad we didn't go with that option instead!! We should of went to Bill Miller's BBQ like we had originally planned. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night but I dont think we will be going back anytime soon to find out!!

This place has the best Catfish around!! Friends of mine told me about this place because they eat there every Friday and I will will also keep comming back every Friday. They have a large selection of home cooked veggies and their home made bread was outstanding. Don't forget to try their cheese cake and say Hello to Marie who is the owner
