This place is very popular with tourists but a fine outting for locals. One can enjoy glassblowing demonstrations, view finished products and make selections to take home or for unique gift giving. Some items are priced within most people's budget (earrings, necklaces can be over a broad range of pricing) and extremely unique items can be quite pricey but may scratch that special interest itch!

A great chance to watch experts making art glass! And since extreme heat is involved, expect the area to be warm also. But watching the glass take shape while the craftsmen answer questions is amazing, maybe especially so when something goes wrong and the piece fractures and they must start over. These fragile, gorgeous creations command high prices so if you plan to add this art to your home, choose a location protected from toddlers and teenagers!

They give a demonstration every hour or so which was very interesting. Most of what we were interested in was prohibitively expensive, as in I didn't see anything I wanted under $400. I did end up buying a blown glass charm which was one of the only affordable items for $30, just to support local businesses.

I understand that this is craftsman work and maybe they are catering to a different clientele, but when I go to the shops in Wimberley and see a similar vase for $300 less it seems odd.

Basically, I suggest you attend for the experience not the merch.
I suggest they try to get some mid-range merch to sell to visitors.

The showroom is full of fun designs and creations. It's also much cooler than the demonstration room, of course. I enjoy watching glassworking, and sat through two demonstrations. The staff were clear in their descriptions, and readily answered questions about the work they clearly enjoyed doing.

Wimberley Glass Works was a nice place to change the pace and environment for an hour. The people there were very friendly and welcoming. The glass work is amazing! It's worth taking a little time out of your visit to the area just to admire the work in their gallery. You can also watch a live demonstration of making the glass which is really cool. If you are looking for somewhere super exciting, this isn't this place. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy something different without a large crowd, this is it. I hope to go back to make a purchase soon!
