We wanted to split a 16 oz NY strip but they were sold out so we settled for a ribeye.
Paid an extra $5.00 for an extra plate, salad, massive baked potato, watermelon slice and never ending charro beans.
Exceptional steak and exemplary service!
Just accolades this time

In terms of food quality and service, the Longhorn is average. Just average. Now that may go against the grain of other reviews, but TexanAbroad is not particularly impressed by the size of my water glass (a pitcher) and the unlimited beans (I saw as a filler).

Salad - like those at a Bonanza Steakhouse, nothing special.
Steak - Cooked correctly but unseasoned and lacking. Went with the salad.
Potato - Matched the steak.
Bar-B-Que - looked at companion plates and was underwhelmed.
Beers - to be so close to Mexico, the beer list was far too short.

I have now dined at the Longhorn three times - to me, the rave reviews are unfounded. It is an OK place to eat in an area with few alternatives. It is average. Don't expect a lot and you'll be thrilled. Mediocre. Will eat there again next month...can't wait.

The endless bean soup is outstanding. We think the flavor if the BBQ is one if the best in TX. The chicken & BBQ pork sandwich were both outstanding flavor. The service is fast & efficient.

When in the area we always stop here for brisket. Reasonably priced, good food, and usually fairly quick service. When you first set down they bring you a cup of the delicious bean soup. It is so good I usually have two cups before I order! Two brisket dinners and a Shiner came to $22.

Had a great time but ribs and brisket were only average and they were out of chicken.Poor boy was excellent and banana pudding are the best dishes for this place.
