As the bf says “I know why people come here - they serve a ton of food at a decent price”. Skip the salad & appetizer, the entree is WAY more food than can be eaten by a reasonable adult. We had salads, bacon wrapped shrimp (because who doesn’t like grilled bacon?) steak fingers & a ribeye steak. The steak fingers were 5/5. The steak was 3/5 bc it was overseasoned & gristly. The salad bar was small, but a decent salad could be made, but because the entrees are so big, I’d skip it. The bacon-wrapped shrimp (8) were good, if a bit salty. Next time we’ll skip them altogether. Overall, not a bad experience. We will most definitely return for the steak fingers.

Came here after graduation at ASU, and everything was great. We didn’t make reservations and they were still happy to accommodate our party of 10+ people. Their chicken fried steak is to die for and are huge portions. The salad bar is just as great as well, (which is included with purchase of a chicken fry), their gift shop at the front of the store is unique as well. The best part I think is the look of the steak house, it is “old timey” and has a bunch of old giant chandeliers. Great place for a date or to take the family.

I know this is a steak house but for both my husband and myself the real gem here is the dessert. They have the most fantastic Italian cream cake I have ever eaten in my life. Their carrot cake is fantastic too. They have a good salad bar with a wide variety of items on it (the homemade croutons are the best) that come with the meals. Our steak was okay but we'll go back for the salad and dessert.

This is a great place to take first-time visitors to your town.
The menu has a great variety for young children, teens & adults.
You will not leave here hungry, especially if you eat a burger!

We had a reservation for early on a weekend evening for a party of 8. We were enthusiastically greeted and seated, but the food experience slid from there. The restaurant is quite large but fairly empty at that time. We ordered family style KC steaks and sirloins, for 3 less than our party knowing we couldn’t all eat large portions. We felt rushed through the whole meal, despite requesting more time. Our appetizers weren’t finished before we were rushed to the salad bar and not finished with the salads before the steak and potatoes arrived. The steaks were tough, potatoes were cold enough that the butter and cheese didn’t melt. The French fries were limp and soggy, the sweet potato fries weren’t completely cooked.
A glass of Chardonnay was sweet (that’s weird), the recommended red wine tasted thin, and the replacement glass of white was only marginally better.
The waitress was interrupting our meal constantly to take plates before we were even finished with them.
We were charged separately for our bacon and cheese for our “loaded baked potatoes” and for three “set ups” at $7 each.
There was nothing to recommend, which is shame for such a long standing restaurant with a history of excellence. It did not meet our expectations at all.
