My stay at the Art Center was absolutely fabulous. I stayed there on Thanksgiving weekend, because I was serving in the military at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo and couldn't afford to fly home for the weekend. I simply wanted to get off base and relax. Susan and Jerry accommodated that and so much more! From the moment I booked the room, they were so kind and helpful. I stayed in the Artists Loft, which was adorable and a wonderful room. One night the restaurant downstairs was a bit noisy, but I stayed there for four nights and it really was not a problem at all. There is a 24 hour kitchen at the B&B that is fully stocked with cereal, eggs, milk, fruit, wine, beer, ice cream, whatever you could want! Coffeemaker with fresh ground coffee. Each morning there was a new baked good and fresh fruit. Absolutely amazing. There is a coffeemaker in my room but I usually just went to the kitchen because the coffee was delicious there. When the hosts (and other artists at the Art Center) found out I was solo on Thanksgiving, they invited me to dine with them and made me feel completely welcome the whole weekend. They are all such a warm and inviting group of people and my stay could not have been better!!! Staying at the Art Center is definitely something unique that you will not find elsewhere. It was a beautiful weekend so I sat outside on the grounds at some of the tables scattered around and was frequently visited by some of the more friendly outdoor cats around the Art Center. It was so relaxing to sit out there and read a book with a soda, glass of wine, you name it!
Considering all the amenities, the price is unbeatable. On par or far cheaper (depending on the room you choose) with the other big hotels in the city, yet none of the other hotels have the service (or kitchen!) found at the Art Center! Also great to walk around and see the amazing art displayed and sold by the artists at the Art Center.
