The sandwiches are delicious and generously sized. The chess pie is awesome. The location is in an otherwise residential neighborhood. The parking is limited, so you might have to park on the street a bit of a walk. But the food is definitely worth it.

Tucked away in an uppity old neighborhood, Mr. T's serves up great lunch specials, sandwiches and other items to eat in or take to go. Most of it is made fresh that day, including the bread. Great breakfasts, great lunches. Come early to beat the MASSIVE morning and lunch loyal crowds, who have been coming to this little restaurant for at least a couple of generations.

You have to know about this place or you won't find it. Hidden in a residential neighborhood, Mr. T's has a fantastic lunch menu with food like mama used to make. Don't forget desert!

Mr. T's Deli was once a local neighborhood grocery store in the 1920's. Then about 1960 it started to transform into a half restaurant and half grocery store. It wasn't until 1992 that it finally transformed into a full blown restaurant. Even though you can't buy groceries there, it still pays tribute to its heritage with the drinks coming out of the old milk cooler and a bread stand beside the tables and chairs. Tucked away in Santa Rita, there seems to be an active amount of traffic heading in and out, but once inside you can always find a seat. I went on a Saturday morning and ended up ordering the omelet special. The side of bacon is the best I have had since coming to San Angelo. The made from scratch biscuits hit the spot as a great end of meal treat. I have yet to make it there for lunch, but if its anything like its breakfast I'm sure I have been missing out.
