Modern, hip decor. Clean and comfy rooms. Close to good restaurants. Have stayed in this hotel a number of times since it opened. Decent breakfast.

Very modern, very clean. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. I also received help with the lady who serves breakfast in the morning after she noticed I was struggling with my toddler and trying to grab some breakfast for us. The room was very clean, bed's were firm, noise level was great. There was a storm and I didn't even notice it until I looked out the window. The only thing we (me and husband) didn't like were the doors to the shower and restroom. They are sliding doors, so that means no locks. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Mrs. C,
Thank you so much for your pleasant review. I’m delighted to see that you and your family enjoyed your stay. It’s always great to see that our team here at SpringHill Suites can take care of each of our guests’ needs. Thank you for your suggestion on our sliding doors – I can only imagine how challenging those can be when traveling with a little one.
Please think about SpringHill on your next visit to San Angelo and we hope to see you and your family soon.
Thank you again,
Brett Turnage

The front desk staff was very friendly and check in no problem. First impressions of the lobby and room are that they are very "Euro" and are quite different from the other hotels we are used to. The firepit and seating area at the front of the hotel are a good idea, but it was unusable during our stay. The fitness area and putting green are a nice touch. The room seemed crowded and the bathroom configuration seemed neat at first, but we soon decided it lacked privacy. The placement of the TV was awkward and could not be seen from one of the beds. The room was very noisy and we could hear bumps in the night at all hours. We were looking for the best room in San Angelo and unfortunately we did not find it here.

Room Tip: Fourth floof because of the noise

Texbear,

Thank you for staying with us at SpringHill Suites on your recent visit to San Angelo. We really appreciate the honest feedback about our property. We try to keep all of our guests comfortable and take care of any noise complaints reported to us in a timely manner. We are also in the process of getting both of our fire pits working again for the cool nights here in West Texas. We hope your last stay doesn't discourage you from visiting our town again.

Sincerely, SpringHill Suites Management

First I have never in my life written a negative review. We have to travel a lot so you learn to deal with flight delays and set a low bar for hotel expectations. However if you are paying for a premium stay at a brand new hotel you sort of have a different expectation.

For a new hotel it leaves a lot to be desired. When we arrived our reservation had not been taken properly which was a little disconcerting after a day of travel. Not a big deal since this is something that often happens when traveling. However it set the tone for what appears to be a poorly managed property.

The breakfast is the worst ever. For a $120 a night hotel you would expect at least edible. It would be better not to offer a breakfast than to serve something that is completely inedible. We have all had the free breakfast at the Super 8, or Holiday Inn Express. That would be a major step up fro what is being served here.

The reception staff was rude and abusive. Lack of sleep, maybe worked to many hours, hard to tell. This is not the person you want to put in reception. When we tried to fix our reservation they suggested we might be happier at another hotel. I agree.

The lobby smelled of sewer gas. Not sure if it was a leak or if the mop water had never been changed. It was there the entire time we stayed though. When you got off the elevator to be greeted with a nauseating smell of sewer is not the impression a clean hotel wants to make.

It sort of went downhill from there. The goofy room arrangements, cheap construction, odd attempts at Feng Shui decor got sort of laughable. We eventually just took the advice of the receptionist and found another place in town with a vacancy. We greatly enjoyed our stay once we moved.

We have stayed in many hotels in San Angelo, and decided to try the SpringHill Suites since it was one we had not stayed in before. It is a very clean property, but the bed was extremely hard, and the room has a strange configuration. The wood and glass doors to the two compartments of the bathroom are very heavy to slide closed and very inconvenient to use. There were not many people staying that night; however, we unfortunately were given a room where directly above us several very energetic children were residing. We asked to be moved to the fourth floor where it was very quiet. We will not be staying here again. There are other much better properties in San Angelo, and we are very disappointed in this Marriott property.

Room Tip: Fourth floor is quieter.

This hotel seems to be fairly new. I loved the colors and the lobby area. The rooms are very cozy with one one of the best floor plans I have ever seen. The sleeping area has separate spaces for showing and using the commode, nice feature. The colors, once again, are very pleasing, like a seafoam green or something on that order. The complimentary breakfast is the usual fare but good. The beds are super comfortable but I have come to expect that in the Marriot line.of hotels. The hotel itself is a bit difficult to find, it is a new area away from the city proper. The area contains loads of shopping, including a mall and a discount club--great for lower gas prices. Plenty of restaurants. As a solo traveler I felt very safe there.

Room Tip: A mall very close by and a discount club.

I have been to San Angelo on business several times, and have stayed at the Springhill Suites each time. It is a warm and friendly hotel. The rooms are comfortable and there is a nice selection of healthy choices at breakfast.

One thing different about the layout is that the shower and toilet are seperate rooms, with a closet in between. I think I prefer them all in one room. But that's not really a complaint, more of an observation.
