We read that this is "more" than the usual Holiday Inn Express and the trip advisor reviews are right on! This hotel is beautifully decorated, spotless throughout, and it has been quality built. There was absolutely no noise; you did not hear anyone walking in the room above or in the halls, no TV noise next door, nor did we hear a door nearby shut as is so commonly heard. It is amazing how well built this hotel is and perhaps the owners can pass along their "secrets" to Holiday Inn management because we have found that most Holiday Inn's are not nearly as well built! The reservationist was more than friendly; she was kind and went out of her way to be accommodating with her pleasant smile and attitude. It is also nice having complimentary Wi-Fi. Our bed was comfortable and we rate this particular Holiday Inn a 3+ Star and worth going out of your way to stay at if you are in the area! You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Unit noise is NOT an issue throughout this great hotel!

This Holiday Inn Express is quite different from those I have stayed in in the past. It was custom built (per the management) with a very sofisticated western flair. Beautiful grand open lobby that
open up in the rear of the building to a rustic designed pool with a lovely setting. The rooms were spotlessly clean and modern. And the management were very well manored and accomodating. And the breakfast was devine. Although it was typical as far as the items served, it was very tasty with many items to choose from. After a longgggg day shopping in Salado (fun little town), it was a pleasant feeling to know you are coming back to a clean and friend hotel. It is located right on I35 but is within a block of where the shopping begins!!! It might not be as the charming B&Bs are (?) but it was beautiful and much more reasonable in price!

During our drive to Salado I telephoned Anthony to see if our room would be available, he said quickly it was ready for our check in when we arrived. The customer service from him "since most of the time I was dealing with him" was above excellent. We needed to know a pharmacy near and Anthony gave us the name of a location 5 minutes drive each way away, our physician was able to call a prescription in and we picked it up immediately. There is a grocery store, which I had no idea - but this is where the pharmacy is. We stayed 4 days for a conference. Excellent service and very kind. For meals other than breakfast you need to drive about 20 minutes, a lot of antique style restaurants, however we did find a Sonic after noticing the Dairy Queen had closed for our late night sweet treat. We will stay here again for the customer service. The highway is in repair for quite a few miles but worth the extra few minutes. The Holiday Inn Express Salado is at present one of two hotels in the same block. Holiday Inn Salado is on the North Bound side of IH-35 at the Salado exit. Breakfast varies on the hot entree's, but for meat eaters there is always some kind of meat. Breakfast food, geat coffee and yogurt with your choice of milk and juices.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing IH-35 however there is no noise in any rooms from the highway. Parking for your car is directly in front of the entrance and registration.

The hotel itself is fine. clean room, good service. But the location is in the middle of nowhere. So you have to drive some distance for anything to do or eat. The hotel has a couple places that deliver but not much else.

Went on business to the Salado/Killeen area for two weeks and this is where our group stayed. From the time we got there to the time we left, that front desk staff treated us like friends. Everyone was so nice and the hotel was really nice. The local area is full of Wineries, Art Galleries and various other small stores. It is a very cute and quiet community. Definately get off the Interstate in Salado and visit for a day or two and stay at this hotel. Very nice walk-in pool and the entire pool area is wonderful, with two covered areas for cooking, relaxing or just getting out of the HOT Texas sun.

Room Tip: Get a room on the back side of the hotel. They overlook the beautiful pool and they are away from any noise you might hear from the Interstate.
