“If you think Texas wine is just average, you'll think the same of this place”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

My grandma, wife, and I went based on the reviews on tripadvisor. We had a great time chatting with the woman working there. However, the wine was lacking. My wife and I had the sample of 4 for $5 while my grandma had the wine-a-rita for $5. These are definitely the best values for wine that is so-so. We also ordered the Texas Cheese Plate for 2 for $14. One of the cheeses was great (Van Sorman), the other two were average for the price.

I'd still recommend the place, especially in spring and fall, but don't be surprised if you're not blown away.

One's expectations are an important part of the wine experience: in blind tastings Texas wines are rated as good as any in the world, but negative expectations can produce a mediocre experience. Our wines are very different - on purpose - we make Texas wines in a style that we think is distinctively Texan. Not Californian, not French. Come and try them for yourself. We'd love to entertain you.

“A nice place for a wine break”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Enjoyed trying 4-wines (for $5) and purchasing a bottle on the way out. We didn't try the wine/cheese pairing but I'm sure it would be good (cheese from The Cheesery, next door) September is the chocolate/wine fest - we're going!

“Such a passion!”
Reviewed April 30, 2012

The owner of the winery is one of those people who you can tell is SO passionate about what he does that you could sit and pick his brain for hours. The wine is delicious, the winery walls use recycled bard wood that is just beautiful. Our favorite winery in Salado.

“Great place to chill and enjoy local entertainment”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

The owners are more than accommodating and friendly! The winery is a place where you can chill with a glass of wine while you enjoy live music (well, there was live music the day we visited). It's a great place to go for a first date or hang out with a group of friends.
