“Don't miss this inn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2009

I read reviews of all the inns in Salado, and found mixed reviews on all of them. This one had mostly positive reviews, with a few minor complaints. I decided that the positive reviews were more reasonable and decided to stay here. What I found was a very comfortable room, a charming old house, delightful hosts, and delicious breakfast. The inn is located in the heart of town on the main street, but no sound was heard at all. Rob couldn't be a more pleasant and helpful host, and cooks a great breakfast. My opinion is that the complaints you may see about this place are from people who probably wouldn't be happy under any circumstances. Don't miss this one!

My daughter got married on July 4th at the Inn at Salado. We had 5 rooms for our immediate family for Friday and Saturday. It was the perfect place for a wedding and family gathering. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Porches were the gathering place for groups, ages ranged from 4 yrs old to 71 yrs old and all were comfortable.

The rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception were all at the Inn. Convenient, great food, wonderful staff, beautiful decorations, I could go on and on and on. It was just perfect.

Everything was first class from the beautifully appointed rooms, sumptious breakfast, and gracious staff. The Inn at Salado made my daughter's special day a fairy tale come true. It was like having the wedding at her grandmother's home, except all we had to do was enjoy it. The staff did all the work.

Thank you for the once in a lifetime experience for our family. We will never forget the Inn at Saledo.

We enjoyed our night at Inn at Salado. Our room (the Lamberth room) was very comfortable and quiet (even though it faces main street) and we didn't hear any road noise at night (salado is a quite town after 7pm). We enjoyed sitting on our private porch watching the people go by. Our breakfast in the pretty dining room was phenomenal. The quiche was excellent, bisquits and gravy were delicious, the light and fluffy waffle was the best we've ever had, and the fruit salad was fresh and yummy. The staff was friendly and nice. We will definitely stay here again.

Wow, What a great time we had. Our room was great ( the norton room ), the location was great, and the breakfast was great. This is what every bed and breakfast should be like. The house was built in the 1870's but is in good shape. Our room was cozy, with a real fireplace and antique bed. We felt like we were living in the past. The smell of breakfast filled the house when we got up in the morning. We talked with the owner and the other guests at breakfast. We left feeling content and rested.

First Bed and Breakfast.
We wanted to spend a little time away from the kids so booked the Lamberth suite. It was very large and had Sat. TV and a walkin shower plus and jetted tub. Our room was clean and but we could hear every move the couple above us made so we kept the tv turned up loud. Breakfast wasn't anything to write home about but filled us up. I think what was missing was something the host might have done to make the stay more memorable but as I mentioned this was our first b&b so we don't have anything to compare out stay with until go back to Salado and try another inn.

Great historic Bed & Breakfast with privacy. We stayed on the way to a wedding in Austin for a brief get-away by ourselves. Great location for walking to various restaurants, shops and the river. We picked the Rose Room, which was a great, secluded room, attached to the main house, but with a private porch with a swing. No TV, which is exactly what we wanted. We sat and read and drank wine on the porch. Would recommend Salado Wine Seller, especially as it is the only place to buy alcohol in town, from what I recall. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Would certainly recommend to others.

Our trip to Salado was great. The Inn was the best experience that my graddaughter and I had. We were greeted by the manager Ester who gave us a tour of the main house and the breakfast area. We stayed in the Willingham Suite. The room was spacious and very clean we had a private porch with rocking chairs. Breakfast the next morning was soooooooooo good. Rob hosted breakfast and took good care of us during breakfast. The quiche was excellent and the waffles were my grandaughters favorite. We found out at breakfast that Rob and his wife were the owners.
The Inn was a great place to stay. Rob, Ester and the staff were so nice and helpful. I know we will be back very soon.
