“A little piece of heaven in salado !”

What a welcome surprise this was!!! I have been in the hotel business for years and am not easy to please but let me tell you the owners Will& Chris just could not say no to any request and made it all happen with grace and style . The rooms are quaint and immaculate and impeccably decorated. The ground are lovely and the bamboo Forrest on thier property boasts a beautiful pagoda for intimate weddings. I loved relaxing on the hammock under the huge oak tree that provided the shade I needed to enjoy being outside in June in Texas . Can't wait to come back!!
Special shout out to Tony who does everything from serving a fantastic breakfast to getting extra towels !! Also Leroy the bartender at the 3 floor bar is funny, professional and makes great cocktails !!

We were on our way back home from riding motorcycles in The Hill Country. We decided to stop for dinner and one of our passengers had lived in Temple and remembered that Salado was a quaint little town. We stopped at The Inn on The Creek on a whim. They were so helpful and accommodating although they were taking care of a wedding party of 40. We ate appetizers which were delicious! Then asked if they had any openings to stay overnight and someone had checked out early so we were able to stay in one of their houses that had two bedrooms and baths. So, we stayed overnight in our own house that had that vintage feel of staying at your grandmother's house. Breakfast at The Inn was delicious! The "stuffed French Toast" was served with bacon & sausage and a fruit bowl. They used china and crystal which was just perfect!
Our overall stay there was so nice and quaint! The service was above and beyond the Southern hospitality that you would expect. Will is doing a great job of WOWING his customers!

We have stayed at the Inn on the Creek for several years. We usually try to take a fall and spring trip there. It is a lovely bed and breakfast located on a quiet street on a beautiful serene creek. We love shopping in the cute little town of Salado, and then spending the afternoon on the wrap around porch overlooking the creek, drinking wine and just relaxing. In the evening, you have the choice of a gourmet 5 course meal or a casual dinner in the beautiful bar overlooking the creek. A delicious breakfast is served in the morning. A wonderful get away. Will be going back very soon.

Room Tip: Choose the main house.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and had a great experience. Will was a perfect host and truly cared about not only our experience with the Inn but with the town itself. This Inn is a perfect mix of old world charm with modern amenities. The food was fantastic and yet very reasonably priced. We will be back!!!

We stayed on Saturday night, having decided on a whim to check out Salado on the way back from Arlington. The inn is nicely situated on the creek, on a quiet road. We stayed in the Rose room, which is on the first floor and faces the front and side (not creek). The room had great period furniture and a very interesting wooden ceiling, along with gorgeous dark hardwood floors. The room has a coffee maker and a mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks. Note that the bed is very high, and could be a struggle if you are not tall. It is, however, very comfortable. The bathroom had a clawfoot tub with a hand held shower attachment--not particularly convenient, so keep that in mind if you prefer showers. Toiletries were nice. The WiFi was very spotty, but this isn't a business travel sort of place anyway! Overall, the feeling is as if you were staying at your wealthy grandmother's house.

Unfortunately the restaurant could not accommodate us that night due to high volume, but we did have cocktails at the third floor bar. My Bloody Mary was very spicy and delicious. We ate at the Shed, a nearby casual dining place that is apparently owned by the same people. The food was good. Breakfast the next morning in the restaurant was fruit, s baked omelet, hot fresh croissants, and potatoes. I could only eat about a third of it but it was all good. We would definitely love to go back.

From the time I made my reservation until the time we left, Will could not have been a better host. We stayed in the McKie room. I would definitely recommend this room. It is a hike to the third floor but the view is well worth it! We had a romantic picnic Creek side. Will was very accommodating and attentive! We will be back!,,,

We chose this inn based on the reviews and were not disappointed. In fact, the property and staff exceeded all expectations. We live in the Ft. Hood area, and when we found out my husband would deploy for a year in short order, Salado came to mind as a get-a-way that would provide us time to ourselves, without sacrificing time with our children by traveling far. We came home relaxed, and intend to return again at some point. Excellent food (both dinner and the included breakfast), impeccably kept inn, and phenomenal staff.

Room Tip: Anderson Room was perfect for us- king bed, claw foot tub with a stand alone shower head (most have...
