“Upscale restaurant... in...”

Upscale restaurant... in Round Rock!? Yes it's true. Good martini bar too. It used to be an old bank, and one of the table is in the vault. :)

“A 360 Dining Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2007

I travel alot, & have had good & bad meals everywhere. The Main Street Grill in Round Rock, Tx. has been a "Full 360 degree dining experience". I was so impressed by the appearence of the place, quality of food & the service at lunch Friday, that I brought the wife back down on the bike 50 miles, for dinner Saturday. This place is kept immaculate. The staff was very attentive & knowlegable. Silverware & glasses feel good in your hand & on the lips, not diminutive or oversized as in some places. The best Veal Marsala i've had in over 20 yrs. The Seared Salmon was perfect. Seasoning of the dishes was complimentory to the courses not overpowering. The flawless tableside preparation of Bananas Foster, & a 1st try excellent selection of wine for my wife, by only a simple description of what she perfers, by our waiter Mitchell, completed the circle. From entering the door to leaving, service, quality, quantity, & atmosphere where all worth the price and the 30 miles of rain on the return trip home. We'll be back and bring friends!!

“Overrated”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2007

Main Street Grill tries hard to keep up the appearance of a high class restaurant, but the facade doesn't go far. The presentation is nice, the ambiance is nice, but we were very disappointed in the quality. For what they charge, there are dozens of places in Austin that are much better. It's just that Main Street Grill is the only "nice" restaurant in Round Rock.

If you eat here, expect to pay far too much for less than great food.

“Way overpriced, mediocre food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2007

Our meals were pretty bad. I'd put them on par with something from Chili's, but for 5 times the price. Go to Louisiana Longhorn cafe instead, it's right down the street. We wasted alot of money here on our anniversary. : (
