This restaurant is a treasure for a city like Round Rock which is inundated with chain restaurants. The menu is creative and delicious and even on the busiest of nights we've had great service. Some items on the menu really shine ... The guacamole and chicken fried beef rib are great. I've also had great experience with anything they have on the specials menu.

Thank Kathryn M

Since moving to the Austin area, this restaurant has been my "savior"! The Round Rock location is closest to my home, so I have been there an average of at least once a month, and for New Years Eve it was of course the chosen one, with friends.
The regular items on the menu are wonderful, but I have always found the daily specials to be even more interesting. The food is mostly local, and they tell you where and what farms, etc.
The desserts are sooooo good, my absolute favorite was a daily special, pistachio nut cake with baklava icecream -- I am so hoping they will start that as a regular one -- I keep asking every time I go. Will have to try Sunday brunch soon -- the only thing left to try.

Went to restaurant for lunch. Wait staff very friendly. Iron skillet meals re delicious. Salad entrees are average. Buttermilk fried chicken is dry and lettuce was not fresh. Ambiance is average. Ask for a booth as the center seating can be crowded.

Jack Allen has two restaurants bearing his name in Austin - one in southwest Austin, the other north of Austin in Round Rock. Both are equally great.

There is nothing on the menu that isn't delicious. My favorites are the Five Cheese Macaroni & Chicken (very heart-warming food), the 13 Spiced Chicken Pasta, and the Chickened Fried Chicken Breast. (But again, EVERYTHING on the menu is wonderful). They also have a daily/nightly special - if you can get the Crispy Fried Texas Coast Snapper, order it. This is what my wife had tonight, and she's mentioned no less than six times how good it was, and that I should write a review.

The drinks are also very good, and reasonably priced. They're more potent than some of the drinks I've had at other restaurants - Jack's doesn't skimp on the liquor in the mixed drinks.

The staff at both locations are always friendly, fast, and professional.

There are a lot of great restaurants in the Austin area, but this one should be near the top of your list to visit if you are in town.

Delicious brunch, friendly servers and staff. Also, at a very reasonable price. I have paid twice as much for less quality and service.
