“Laid back”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

We met friends here for a great evening, with live music in the background. The ribs were falling off the bone, and the brisket was good too. We relaxed at an outdoor table over sweet tea and reminiscences and kept the food coming.

“A little off the interstate but happy we stopped”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Remembered seeing this on Trip Advisor so we stopped for a late lunch on our way to San Antonio. It is a little bit off the interstate but worth the extra drive. We bought two combo meals with brisket, sausage links, ribs, and pork and split between family of three and it was just the right amount of food. We liked the brisket and sausage best. My son said the potato salad was some of the best he has had. Beans were just average and pork a little dry. We asked for bread and that was good just to eat while we were waiting for our food. We liked the BBQ sauce and purchased a small bottle to take home. The meal arrived quickly and the service was very good. We would stop again if in the area.

“Silver Winner”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Per my previous post....Franklins takes the BBQ gold for me but the pulled pork sandwich from Salt Lick may edge Franklins out. I will say the Driftwood location is worth the ride, for the ride. And as a NY foodie, once a place opens shop in an airport they've lost me, but all in all if you are looking for dinner BBQ hit Salt Lick!

“Take with a grain of salt”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

Brisket - not exactly lick my lips. Tender yes, but surprisingly void of smokiness & flavor.

Cole slaw - not a lick of flavor. The cook went on break after chopping the cabbage?

Beans - more than a pinch of salt, but decent nonetheless.

Potato salad - outshined the rest of my plate.

Service - lickety split, prompt, and courteous.

Lick my plate clean? - Hardly, good luck with the large portions.

Lunch is over - back to the salt mines with my to-go box.

My family went there for a celebration. The brsket just melts in your mouth. And the potato salad was seasoned just right. The service was excellent. A perfect celebration!!
