Love the quiche Lorraine and the strawberries with the brandy cream sauce - one of my absolute favorites at La Madeleine.

We met family at restaurant for lunch and we all enjoyed the food. Tomato Basil Soup and the Potato soup were favorites along with the Turkey Bistro with pasta. Service was good and good selectionof food.

We've been eating at this chain's French bakeries since the early 1990s, and even though there isn't one in our hometown, we seek them out from time to time when we're on the road. We make the trip through Rockwall, TX, a couple of times each year, and if it's anywhere close to meal time, we'll make our way to the La Madeleine located beside I-30 near exit 68.

Access to this restaurant is really very easy, although a written description of it would sound complicated. You'll have to cross over the interstate and backtrack on the access road if you're going west bound. Eastbound, you have to exit early and then travel down the access road till you get to it. (I don't know why the Texas DOT thinks this kind of highway design is a good idea.) Once you get there, parking is easy and readily available.

La Madeleine offers a menu with a wide price range, so you can match your budget. You can order from the menu as you go through the line, or you can select a pre-prepared item from the hot bar. Even though they don't always tell you, you can get breakfast food (omelettes for example) anytime of day. If you order from the kitchen a server brings your meal to the table. Otherwise you carry it yourself. Coffee refills are free and so is fresh bread with jelly.

The quality of the food is always excellent, although the hot bar items can get a little "dated" if you're there at off-peak times. We got omelettes on this last trip and were very happy with them. Cleanliness of the chain's restaurants and their general attractiveness varies depending on the quality of the management team. Judging from appearances, the managers at the Rockwall bakery are excellent. This place really shines.

Free wi-fi is also available.
