Stayed in Room 314 small 2 bedroom. Had granite countertops in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Tiles floors in entry way, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room. Television in both bedrooms. View of the bay from balcony was beautiful. Staff was very friendly. Housekeeping available everyday replacing used towels and emptying trash containers. Fishing pier was awesome, no missing boards and beautifully lighted at nite with lights under water. Enjoyed so much didn't want to leave! Big hit with entire family, ready to reserve for next year.

We stayed in room 316 in July 2012. There was black hair on both bathroom floors, in our towels and in the shower/tubs. There was also an empty "dip" can on the floor by the sofa waiting for us when we checked in. If they pay their cleaning staff, they are getting ripped off.

Room Tip: Inquire about pets. Apparently they are pet friendly as we saw plenty of dogs going in and out of r...

We stayed in room 304 in July 2012. It was clean and up to date. The pool was well kept and the kids loved it. The pier is the best in the area and is well lit at night (great for night fishing). It was everything we expected. The view of the bay is as good as it gets. The staff were friendly. It felt very much like a hotel and we got allot for the money we spent there. No complaints.

Room Tip: Apparently each room is different. They have dog friendly rooms. Our didn't allow dogs and it...

The lighted pier is great for fishing.

The manager made us wait until exactly 4 to check in. Absolutely nothing happened at the front desk between 3:50 and 4 o'clock, but the manager wanted us to wait...

The "private" balcony is separated from the entire row of balconies by a small railing - making for wonderful neighborly chats at 1 am, when the frat party is just getting started, and again at 4:30am when the fishermen leave.

Room Tip: 411 and 412 are the most private balconies.

We have been coming here since 1997. The hotel no longer has free continental breakfasts. They don't clean the rooms unless you request it (they don't tell you that), we found a used plastic toothpick on the nightstand. They didnt even empty the trash can in the room The entrance to the pier was missing a board and full of seaweed, my wife fell when she grabbed the railing and it gave way. Laguna Reef is run like a fish camp and I'm okay with that but not at almost $200.00 a night. There are better hotels for that kind of money. We'll stay at the Lighthouse next time.

We stayed in a clean and spacious 4th floor two-bedroom suite at the Laguna Reef during a Christmas vacation trip to Rockport to view the whooping cranes at Aransas Wildlife Refuge. The master bedroom and living room both featured a balcony and floor to ceiling windows and an unimpeded view of the bay. Every morning we threw back the drapes to enjoy spectacular sunrises, and enjoyed early morning and late afternoon walks along the waterfront and the private fishing pier. The kitchen was adequately stocked for preparation of simple meals and the furniture in the living and dining room areas was clean and comfortable, although somewhat dated. The beds were very comfortable, and we all slept well. Amenities were pretty minimal, and room service was provided only every three days. However, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and provided helpful information about area dining, shopping and attractions. While the front desk was closed overnight, we were given phone numbers to contact staff if we had any after-hours needs. All in all, it felt very much as if we had our own private condo on the beach rather than staying in a resort hotel. It was quiet, private, and altogether satisfactory for a low-key getaway.

Room Tip: Third and fourth floor rooms facing the bay are a definite plus.

One of the worst hotels ever for >$100 a night. Very old lumpy bed, ripped linens, old ripped carpet with mystery stains. The only housekeeping service they provide is clean towels- they do not make the bed, change linens, vacuum carpet or clean up bathroom. Truly a horrible stay. They get your money up front so luckily we only planned to stay for 2 nights. Would have rather slept in the car-it was much cleaner!
