We received two recommendations for this little place so we decided to give it a try. It's a small little restaurant sort of out in the middle of nowhere, between Rockport and Aransas Pass (about 15 minutes south or Rockport). The main dining room only had about 10-12 tables in it, but the place was bustling when we arrived. We had actually eaten seafood the night before, but we ordered an appetizer of the "crab dollars" (silver dollar-size crab cakes) and then my husband opted for the catfish and I ordered a New York strip steak. His plate, when it arrived, was heaped with three large pieces of fried catfish and a couple of large hush puppies and plenty of tator tots (he had the option of french fries or tator tots). The crab dollars were delicious, the hush puppies were the best either of us have ever eaten--light and slightly crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. My steak was cooked flat iron style and was juicy and tender. The fun part was exchanging fun conversation with the people at the table next to us. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and the company. The service was great and all the wait staff were very nice. We'll definitely go back next time we're in town.
