We stopped by just to see what this place offered and we were really surprized ! It has a nice vistor center offering items from the local beach/area, but the sphere is out of this world!!! Its a wonderful teaching device that was so interesting and we all learned something about weather . Each day is a different lesson and its displayed on a large sphere which gives the illusion that its turning but its a 3-d type digital pic displayed on it. there are very few in the united states but rockport has one! Great little center with good teachers....

The Center was free. We had children that easily absorbed the information and exhibits. Limited funding has reduced the hours to 1 - 4pm, though

20 minutes worth of hands-on exhibits and info, but the real star here is the 30-minute Science on a Sphere program. Well worth watching. Even my 5-year-old sat through the entire thing. Hard to believe it's all free.

I didn't expect much. The viewing room was very small. But, the Science on a Sphere presentation was very entertaining. We will go back for all the different ones. Very pleased!

Very amazing little museum. Loved the illuminated globe show (by 4 computer controlled projectors) which gives the appearance of all the planets within the solar system, depending on which one is discussed during the presentation. The view of the planets is not static. You can actually see storms spinning on the planets! This is not a planetarium. It is really something unique.

Museum open Tues-Saturday with globe shows at 2:00 and 3:00. Although we only went for the Tuesday show, the live narrator indicated that there are 4 different shows during the week.

Seating does fill up, so I recommend getting a seat 10-15 minutes before show.

Great way to spend an hour in Rockpoint. Don't let the location or the little size of the musuem cause you to pass it by. The quality in such a small little beach town surprised me... pleasantly.

And, this amazing little show is FREEEEEEEEEE!
