“Best RV park on the coast!”
Reviewed May 1, 2012

I've stayed at this park twice and absolutely love it! It's so quite and quaint and everyone is so friendly! The padsites are cement surrounded by carpet grass and shade. The pool is nice, however, the jacuzzi isn't warm...it's the same temp as the pool, so don't get your hopes up about a hot tub. Also, make sure to inquire about the electricity charges. I must've missed it on the website so I only expected to pay for the weekly fee, which I paid up front. However, upon checking out, an electricity charge had to be paid. Other than that, this place is HANDS DOWN the nicest place I've ever stayed at the coast!

This is one great place. We stumbled upon in our travels south here in texas, tried to make a reservation by phone after-hours and a day later received a call back and yes there was one space available and we went for it. Everyone was so friendly and professional and took the time to help us out. As first time RVers we needed all the help we could get. We stayed one week and booked a return site where we stayed for an additional month. Great soft gulf breezes, peaceful friendly park like atmosphere. If you can get in go and enjoy -- Shabyna and I would return again and suggest so would you -- Paradise

We spent 5 days here in our 5th wheel. Excellent, shady sites, long and wide. Staff went above and beyond to help (our site was a back in with trees on each side of the entrance; staff did a much better job backing in than I could have). No noise. Clean laundry room and clean, large showers. About 5 miles from Rockport, which we considered about right (several RV parks within city limits, not the type we prefer). Only criticism was inconsistent internet.

Drifters Resort is by far the best place my husband and I have stayed in Rockport/Aransas Pass in years. We have been coming down here on vacation in October for the past 20 years and we have finally found the place to stay right here. We have stayed at other resorts in the area but Drifters has proven to be the best place yet. It is very clean, well maintained, quiet and comfortable. The staff is very pleasent and helpful. We felt welcomed. Great place for people with boats, good parking and within a few miles of several public boat ramps. Stay here relax and enjoy the fishing.

Had to cancel reservations last year as plans changed. Came this year and the resort is great. Very clean, staff are great. Close to Rockport, but as close to Aransas Pass also. Great location if you don't want to stay in the 'party' town of Port Aransas. The only issue we had was the internet not working sometimes in the campground. They did respond to my complaint and tried to fix it. Most places would have just blown me off. I don't go on vacation to use the internet, but we do rely on it heavily to see maps, get directions, and find places to eat. We will definitely come back.

Drifters Resort is a fabulous option for your Rockport/Port Aransas vacay. Though it's not perfect, it doesn't boast to be and the price is right.

We rented a bungalow, which proved to be a perfect size for one couple. (The rest of our gang was spread out over cabins/cabanas - also great) It was clean (with the exception of the strangely greasy floors, probably from the floor cleaner - no big deal, just bring along a mop), tidy, appropriately furnished, well-shaded and quaint. It's also felt very quiet and very safe.

The location could be ideal or not, depending on what you've come to enjoy most. If you are a fisherman, you'll be in paradise only 3 minutes from a large public boat slip near the flats and many other desirable fishing hotspots. If you've come for a beach getaway, just keep in mind that Port A is 30 minutes away when you factor in the ferry, and Rockport is 10 minutes. If you enjoy being on the water and watching the sunset every evening, you'll be disappointed here as they are obviously not waterfront or waterview.

There are great amenties onsite - laundry, a nice pool, rec center and a very helpful staff, willing to go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. I was also very impressed with the trash/supplies system - simply leave your trash on the driveway every morning and it's magically whisked away. For supplies, fill out a provided card, stick it in the clip on the front door and voila - they will be waiting for you. Fresh towels? Just stuff your old ones in the provided laundry bag and fresh towels shall greet you on your return home. We never wanted for a thing. They even sell ice (for a reasonable price) at the front desk. Essential for days fishing or beaching.

It's hard not to be wooed by the price of a week long stay here - less than $600. Clearly, the owners know exactly what they are and what they are not, and have priced themselves perfectly, perhaps even a bit TOO low.
