“Lots of birds. Clean beach, except for the jellyfish. Use mosquito repellent.”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

It's a good thing it was much too cold for swimming, because there were many jellyfish in the water, as well as a few dead ones on the beach. There were many birds, which was the nature of my visit. I saw a long billed curlew, and watched him forage for food for quite a while. The mosquitoes were so bad I couldn't even get out of my vehicle; next time I won't forget to use mosquito repellent.

“Living at the Coast”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is a beautiful place to go. If you have small children, it is so much better than Port A beach. It is shallow safe water quite a way out and the ship and jungle gym are great. Nesting and baby birds are so close you can actually enjoy them. I live here so I have been many many times. If you do have teenagers, they can jet ski or wake board around the ski basin. Plus all the older kids hang out at the circle on the end of the beach. People are friendly and welcoming. I have to enter what type of visit and when. Anytime of year is great. Right now we have just had a cold front and the high is 45 degrees but I still go to the beach and just park and watch the water and boats.

“Great place to take kids.”
Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

enjoyed the atmosphere. Was a great place to take kids especially an energetic 3 year old boy. Played in the sand making sand castles and played in the water. Water wasn't that deep unless you swam out a good ways. Very clean beach.

“Decent beach”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Rockport beach park is a nice beach with good facilities. There are generally small waves and there is an area off to the side for swimming that is very calm.
The boat launch is also a part of the park and there is a nice area to launch Sunfish or Hobie Cats. One night per week there are locals who race Sunfish and other small sailboats.
