Went for dinner at Masami on a weekday evening. Wonderful atmosphere; staff was friendly and welcoming. The pre-meal hot towel was a welcome touch. Wide-ranging menu, which took a while to look through -- so many choices. Tip: don't be afraid to ask the waiter for recommendations. Indeed, he took pity on me once the meal arrived, and quietly guided me through the steps for eating the dishes properly (for example, the soup in the teapot was to be poured through the spout and drunk; the solids within are eaten separately with the chopsticks). Sushi was excellent and prepared on the spot. Overall, a fine experience -- and I expect it'll be superb for anyone already well familiar with the etiquette of Japanese dining.
