“Great Breakfast, Lunch and SNAX”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

One of the newer options in the tony Dallas suburb of Richardson, TX. It used to be a KFC until it met Mr. Bulldozer! The new building and property are sparkling clean and upscale. This is so not a Hardee's or McDonalds.

The burger menu is huge, well priced and diverse including a vast array of chicken and grilled turkey options. All are outstanding and served to order. Portions are larger than most of the other options in the area. And the toppings are piled high but do not distract from the grilled meat flavor.

Breakfast items are hard to choose from but anything on one of the over-sized biscuits will make your stomach happy. The sausage egg and cheese biscuit is favorite. Layers of real egg topped with a hefty sausage patty and kissed with melted cheese. NOM NOM

They offer MANY ice cream and shake options but pass me the sublime ice cream SAND-WICH! You will suck it down so fast that things will not have a chance to get messy.

The kiddy burger is just 99 cents. The kiddy burger is just 99 cents. And probably a third a pound of smokey meat.

The service is outstanding and sincere. They come and make certain that everything is perfect.
Did I mention the guys that work here are hot looking? They are!

Lastly - clean bathrooms! No smell like McDondalds and the floor is spotless. And huge wide screen TV's with a discreet volume.

It does not get any better.

“Carl’s Is Fairly New To Richardson”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2012

This location is not far from our house and I saw it going up as a restaurant however we never stooped until now. The food is about he same we would find at any fast food hamburger place. We had the usual burger, fries and drink. They are busy at this location at noon time. There are many restaurant choices in this immediate area. Parking is on the lot where Carl’s is located.

“Snazzy New Building - But The Hamburgers Are Dull”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2012

Everyone in Richardson was either nostalgic and sad or delighted when the old Kentucky Fried Chicken building was bull-dozed to make way for a new to DFW Chain - Carl's Jr. I was thrilled as everyone loves the flavor and aroma of a freshly charcoal grilled hamburger. Carl's is a spin-off from Hardee's, which was also famous for making char-grilled burgers.

It took me three visits, one recently, to understand why I don't frequent this place. The hamburgers are totally BLAND and MEH because they are not CHARCOAL or even FLAME GRILLED like the Burger King across the street. The only smoke flavor you can find is if you order a hamburger with bacon. I tried a large and delicious looking double burger this meat. No flavor at all and certainly nothing that tasted like it came from a backyard grill. Grilled meat always entails a little smoke, again like Burger King. And you can smell it at any good BBQ restaurant.

Not here. No amount of salt could bring taste and flavor to this giant hamburger. And on all three visits, either the floors, tables or both needed cleaning or sweeping. You could probably overlook a few crumbs on a table after the lunch crowd, but not for such bland food.

On the plus side, the staff is extremely friendly and well trained in providing good customer service. The hamburger toppings are also good. And if the "char-grilled" moniker meant grilled meat taste this place would be a good value.

But it's not.
