Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel

We stayed here over Thanksgiving because it was close to our family and we used points. (our family's house was all booked up!) All of the staff went out of their way at every opportunity to provide excellent service. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet staff were especially generous, offering to make/get anything we needed. We will definitely come back here next time we come to Dallas, even if we aren't going to use points! Thank you Marriott!

I stayed here for a 3-day business trip to so some training for a large, nearby computer company. The good things: checking in was smooth, quick, and I was immediately greeted within 2 seconds of walking in. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a restaurant, lounge, and spacious general area within eyesight upon walking in. Plenty of room to have ad hoc meetings, conversations, etc. The room was beautiful as well. Very clean. No bed bugs, dust bunnies, and plenty of outlets. Lighting and climate controls were easy to adjust. The bed was very comfortable. Wifi was fast and it was easy to authenticate for free connectivity. The showers were great, no problems with the work area either. I was on the 8th floor, across from the parking garage.

Parking is validated by using your hotel key card, but when you arrive you don't have one so make sure you talk to the front desk about that so you don't have to pay extra. There's a conference center located across from the hotel which it uses for obvious reasons. There are a ton of function rooms on the lobby level. You can print out your boarding passes for all airlines at the PC/printer station located across from the front desk when you walk in. Finally, it was very easy to find this hotel and you can see it right off the highway.

I have no negative comments for this hotel. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Stay in a mid-height level room - there are so many room here but I was on the 8th floor. The elevat...

I have stayed at this hotel 5-10 times per year for the past two years. I have also hosted business meetings at the hotel. The property is always clean, well maintained, and has nice amenities for the business traveler. The staff is helpful and friendly. A nice bar and lounge area just off the main lobby is a great place for informal meetings and discussions. Meeting rooms are of good size and well appointed. The menu is broad to accomodate most tastes, and the food is adequate but not spectacular. Pretty much what you would expect from a Renaissance/Marriot property. Having stayed at many others in the area, I find the Renaissance to have the best location and value.

That said, the property is generic and lacks any local or unique ambiance. I would not stay here with my family on holiday, but instead would look for a unique, quaint property with character run by locals...perhaps a B&B.

My wife and I recently hosted a mini reunion for some of my Naval Academy classmates.
While we didn't stay at the hotel we did select it after visiting a few of the Richardson area hotels. The Renaissance offered nicer rooms at a better price than two of the Trip Advisor's top rated area hotels. The group had ten rooms for three nights and everyone raved about the rooms and service. All the items rated below are based on inputs from the group. The staff was very helpful in providing transportation to nearby restaurants. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was it's proximity to a light rail station, which made getting to a football game at SMU very easy. We would definitely recommend the Renaissance to any future visitors.

Room Tip: Mini Suites are real nice for a little extra.

This hotel is absolutely stunning, well-maintained, comfortable and a great experience. We recently stayed overnight to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary and I could not ask for a more elegant memory. The rooms are very spacious, gorgeously decorated and clean. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The General Manager went out of his way to make our stay memorable (thanks, Bill). The Employees genuinely seem to enjoy their job as well. Personally, I really enjoyed how quiet the hotel was and not a lot of kids running through the hotel unsupervised. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful establishment!!
