“Actually, Not Bad”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Looks are deceiving and for Ye Shire Tavern, the decorations frame this place to be more of an old, creepy, outdated place. If it underwent renovation and become more bright and inviting, it would probably get a better reception. The food is quite good, portions are generous, and the service is really good!

I recommend ordering:
-Waldorf salad with salmon $14.99 - this is a special and not listed on the menu. The salmon was cooked perfectly.
-Carrot cake is very good, so save room for dessert. Again, serving is very generous.

If you're in the area, give this place a chance.

“Surprisingly delicious seafood”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

Hubby ordered classic fish and chips: the chips were homemade, crisp and delicious and the fish was fresh and deftly fried. The surprise was the Chef’s Special, two perfectly sautéed Tilapia filets crowned with lump crabmeat and a light lemon sauce with sides of grilled asparagus and diced potatoes with a wonderful cream sauce. Our waiter was attentive and really pleased that we tried the fish.

Another time we will try their signature dish, prime rib, the fish tonight was too wonderful to miss.

“Decent Food”
Reviewed February 25, 2012

Would not go out of my way to dine here as the food is okay. Service is fast but it all appears to come pre-packaged and reheated.

“Excellent pub food in Richardson”
Reviewed September 21, 2011

Ye Shire Tavern is an excellent pub in Richardson Texas. I had the open face beef sandwich, which came with mashed potatoes (with real pieces of potato in it) and peas. The meal tasted fresh and was served quite hot. The gravy with the beef was delicious.

The menu had several sandwiches as well as several entrees. Full bar, no beers on tap but they do serve about a dozen varieties of bottled beer.

The room itself is pub style, with the bar along one side. It was not as dark as a lot of pubs, with just some wood accents.

The waitress was friendly and quick.

“Pleasantly Surprised”
Reviewed September 1, 2011

Great relaxed atmosphere with a friendly staff. We had the crab cake and blue cheese chips to start. I wouldn't have the crab cake again but the chips were homemade and good. Next was shrimp scampi with crab butter which was extremely rich and the fish and chips which was the homemade chips again instead of fries "chips" with a great coleslaw. But, the best part was the to die for banana cream pie! We will be returning.
