“Not too shabby”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

Wasn't too bad if you know what to order. The fried shrimp were not the best. Chicken, shrimp, and sausage gumbo was pretty good. Had the Caribbean Fish with catch of the day red snapper that was pretty good. Expect to spend around $20 per person for the good stuff on the menu. The staff were very friendly

“just awful”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2014

Ordered steak to be cooked medium came back well done. blackened chicken was ok. They put the salads on real small plates and had your salads falling off your plate so you were always scooping up when you used your fork. sent email to castaways about our experience. jay said i wouldnt like my steak cooked like that either???? Thats it!! What???!!! For $20 for a steak you should get what you ordered.

“Tourist trap restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2014

We were very disappointed with our meal. We ordered a combo platter. The fried fish was square, literally, and the broiled shrimp was overcooked. The best thing on the platter was the coconut shrimp. The price for drinks is steep -- $7 for a house margarita & $3.50 for a bottle beer. If you can find somewhere else to it, I say do so.

“Change at Castaways”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2014

We always eat fried seafood at Castaways when we come down for a summer vacation. So we were shocked and disappointed to find they took the soup and salad bar away and replaced it with a wooden wall. My group ordered house salads at $2.99 each as the waitress recommended doing that. But they were just piles of white iceberg lettuce. We each had 2 cherry tomatoes, 1 slice of cucumber, 1/2 sliver of onion, some sprinkled cheese and tiny soup croutons. Our group likes veggies so this kind of bummed us out.
The fish and shrimp basket was good as always, but is served on a small white platter (no basket)
I left feeling a paid a little too much for white I got this year.

“Very good food and service”

We sat outside, I ordered all you can eat shrimp and if hand my friend ordered the shrimp broil. I couldn't even finish my first plate and the waiter ordered me a second plate and even offered a to go box. My friend had the shrimp broil and it was amazing, there were well over 40 shrimp on it and their suspended butter sauce that came w it was orgasmic
