Great food and wonderful atmosphere (on the water). We had the calamari that was delicious and the garlic fish which was yummy. Fast and friendly servers.

We have been to Virginia's many times. In the past (several years ago) it had always been a favorite. Despite some negative recent reviews we thought because we were off season it might not be as busy. We have become increasingly dissatisfied but thought we would give it another go. We only order the fried fish as there seems little to go wrong. It has always been grouper & very good. When we started eating it definitely wasn't grouper. The waitress said it was striped panagsius. I asked if it was caught locally. She said that it was farm raised, meaning frozen & not what we had in mind sitting watching the Texas Gulf. She then proceeded to tell another table she can buy it at a local grocery "really cheap" 3.99 or 4.99 #. It came with medium hot fries, warm paper cup of coleslaw & hush puppies that had gooey uncooked middle. This was not a deal breaker but I asked about a featured beer I was unfamiliar with, Landshark. She told me it was a Mexican beer like Corona or Dos Equis. When it came the bottle said Margaritaville Brewing Co St Louis. Since the dinner was 15.99 for farm raised, undoubtedly frozen, "really cheap" fish, that did it for me. It's a shame because the location is great. Many great places in Port A. Do not need this one.

Grilled shrimp salad for lunch was A+, but the two times for dinner before were less than appetizing. They need to work on lowering prices or expectations - one of the two.

We were looking for a different restaurant to try for lunch. We liked that Virginia's was right on the water with a great view of boats. The seagulls and pelicans were so close sitting on pilons or the boats. They have a lunch special which was great. Very good food and a very good price. The place was relaxing and we were not rushed. Next time we are in Port A we will go to Virginia's for lunch.

This was always a "must" visit, not so much anymore. Quality has gone down over the past few years. To bad - love the atmosphere.
