“Not bad but could be better”

An interesting variety of seafood dishes are on the menu. We decided on the grouper pontchartrain and the gumbo. The gumbo was good but not my favorite style. It included a very good small loaf of French bread. The grouper was also good but not really great for the $$. The shabby decor of the place takes away from the experience. The beer was really great.

“fake butter and MSG meal”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

Delighted to have fish and easy food for kids...but dinner was perfectly fine fish and fresh vegetables drenched in weird trans-fat marinades. Too bad--without the sauces the food would have been a hit.

“What a find!”
Reviewed March 29, 2014 via mobile

We used yelp to find this gem, such delicious food! The gumbo was some of the best we've had! The best part was they allow you to bring your own wine. The key lime pie was just icing on the cake!

“Best food on the island.”
Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

We tried other places earlier in the week waiting for them to open. Finally got to try it on Thursday night. Kids got the shrimp basket and was awesome, more than they could eat. I got the Blackened Amberjack and was delicious. This is definitely the best place on the island in my opinion. May a little pricey but worth it.

“Awesome seafood in a small quirky place!”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

Based on TA reviews we decided to give it a try! First and foremost is the fact this is one of VERY FEW restaurants on the island that will take a reservation, so with 4 kids in tow during the busy season, that was a positive from the start. The restaurant itself is tiny with about 10 tables..From the outside it looks like an tiny run down old shack and my husband was definitely worried as he wanted to go to the big sports bar and grill down the road...BORING!! :) But we were all pleasantly surprised. The food has a Cajun New Orleans flair and it was delicious. Kids had gumbo and clam chowder and I had crab cake to start..all were amazing. Then I had the Blackened Grouper Pontchartain and it was very tasty and my husband had the Amberjack special with a garlic cream sauce..also delicious. They have a good wine and beer selection as well and offer a limited kids menu with shrimp and chicken fingers. We had great service with smiling, helpful faces. Just a cool laid back, funky ambiance with good fresh food. I highly recommend it!
