We have been here several times, but has been a couple of years. This is by far the BEST campground you will ever camp in. Immaculately maintained. Nice green grass. All of the campsites are extra large and surrounded by palm trees and other flowering bushes, which provides a nice sense of privacy. The boardwalk is right there, and isn't a very long walk to the beach. Nice pool and hot tub. They don't allow old beat up campers in here (and no tent campers) so you really have a nice resort feel. These lots are privately owned and the owners rent them out through the management company. Each lot is a little different - maybe an outdoor cook counter - some quite elaborate. There are other campgrounds in Port Aransas that are a little less expensive, and we've driven through them. Most of them have dirt and cement with small lots and long, long walk down the boardwalk to the beach. If you want a really nice vacation, spring for a little more and stay at Gulf Waters. One problem: Wifi is very undependable. We had trouble in the past, and experienced difficulty part of the time on this trip. So if that is really important to you, maybe come prepared with your cell phone set up as your mobile hot spot. Other than that nothing to complain about -- and it takes a lot to get 5 stars. They earn it.
