Wonderful meal in every way! Enjoyed the rib-in filet and it was amazing with lobster infused potatoes. Every aspect of the evening was delightful. The restaurant is small so reservations are highly recommended. A bit hard to find and GPS has a hard time with the location. But well worth the hunt - you will not be disappointed! We will return next time we are in Port Aransas! Thank you La Barataria!

Dined here last weekend. First, when our party sat down there was only one menu on the table. We asked our server twice for another menu. After I asked her for a menu, she looked really grumpy and walked off angry. The menus should already be on the tables, right? Our server who was a tall lady seemed bipolar. She was super sweet one minute then really rude throughout the night back and forth - it was rather disturbing. The food was just OK. I ordered the Mahi that came with asparagus and both didn't have much flavor. I was expecting something delish like at The Pelican. I could have cooked it just as good on my grill at home. The bread was really tasty though. I won't be coming back just because of that awful server woman.

We went for a romantic dinner after the beach and we found this place using Urban Spoon recommendations. Now here is our review:
This place is located in a nice place, hard to find but it has good ambience and average service now the problem is with the quality of the food and the price.
The food is terrible and price incredible high for Texas restaurants
We order a Mahi-Mahi sandwich $18.00 and the Mahi was dry, the plate came with wasabi, ginger and a burned jalapeño. Also we ordered a Barateria pizza recommended by the server as real Italian pizza, and the pizza dough was also hard an dry, the pizza had some little pieces of mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and fine cutter basil ( you don't cut a basil with a knife) that looks like spinach and a lot of ground meat that suppose to be Italian sausage.
We will never recommend this restaurant to anybody
The big problem here is the relation btw price and quality of the food

Finally something to eat in Port A. After chowing on various tourist fried mysteries we have found a true gourmet restaurant. Flawless service, presentations and food. Yes, good bread can be found in America!
