“Yummy gelato!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

Another place in Port Aransas we will come back to again!
There were 7 in our group, & we each got a different flavor gelato.
Everyone was bragging that their flavor was the best.
There was also a band playing while we were there that we enjoyed listening to.
Would like to go in & try a coffee drink next time. Be sure you include this place on your next visit to Port Aransas.

“Very refreshing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

We visited twice while staying on Port Aransas. Kids loved the gelato - tried six different flavors in two days. Adults enjoyed all the coffee choices, both hot and cold. My favorite was the "Big Train," a coffee or milk based drink with different added flavors and other diet-busting goodness. Atmosphere was great - table seating, some over-sized lounge chairs that kids loved climbing on, a few side rooms for a quieter setting, music on Friday and Saturday nights. The owner was there on the second day. He was a really personable guy with a tiny little one of his own. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

“Am I missing something?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

We went here cause of all the positive reviews and the hope of a good coffee. Nope, that didn't happen. Got one of my favorite drinks of cold brew coffee and I'm not sure what it was. The girls behind the counter weren't really the types that know good coffee so it's not that kinda shop. It's cute on the inside, but didn't feel like we were on the island. I'll pass next time we are in town and find my coffee elsewhere.

“Start your engines at Coffee Waves”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

This is a well-run coffee bar that would put that "other" coffee shop to shame. Dark, eclectic décor displaying work by local artists and big, soft comfy chairs invite you in for a nice lengthy stay to enjoy a nice coffee or cuppa. Standard coffee house fare PLUS cold-brewed coffees, sandwiches and gelato. Opens early and stays open for night-owls. Check for times because Port Aransas eateries and shops tend to close depending on business traffic.
