“Not worth the money”

We reserved three nights (Sunday-Wednesday) the Starlight Siesta Beachhead Condominium #307 through a well-known booking companies for $1150. The owner, wrote that it had two twin beds in the second bedroom and access to a gym. When we arrived, we found out this was not true. The second bedroom had a fold-out sofa (small and uncomfortable), and the gym and been destroyed by Hurricane Harvey. Everything in this condo is old, and the place is begging for a remodeling. The furniture looks like it has been there since 1980, and the condo is decorated with unusual artwork. The flapper in one of the toilets did not seat properly and made a loud whistling noise after flushing. The faucet in the second bathroom leaked water over the counter top when turned on. The blinds barely functioned and were missing the wands need to open and close them. The refrigerator is old and took all night to become cold enough to allow the safe storage of food. The wooden threshold covering the carpet at the entrance to the kitchen had a nail protruding up about 3/8 of an inch. I used a hammer to force it back down so no one would suffer a puncture wound of the foot. The microwave is cheap and old, it has a control knob marked in minutes. The paint on the base boards are chipped as is the lower part of one of the bathroom doors. The AC struggled to lower the temperature from 80 to 74. It decreased by one degree per hour. I called the local rental agency who managed the Beachhead Condominiums to point out these problems. They said they would find us another unit in the morning, which they did. This condo is not worth the money!

“It's okay......”
Reviewed August 5, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The condo was okay.....nothing great but nothing horrible. Was okay for cleanliness but could use a deep clean. My major complaint was the beds seriously need to be replaced! Mattresses are very old and uncomfortable. The view is not was I expected. You have to go all the way to the right of the balcony to have an ocean view.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of nice kitchen ware and utensils. We rented many a beach house and usually kitchen "stuff" looks like something you would find in a garage sale. Not here, everything looked great. There was a tv in every room, including master. Beach was just a boardwalk away...not far at all. The only reason we did not give all five stars was due to the pull out couch mattress and Wi-Fi. The mattress was so bad it was unusable, even by the kids. The mattress on it needs to be replaced. Don't count on using the couch for sleeping. In addition, the wifi is very very bad. You can not stream movies, and sending pics is like sending through dial up. If you plan on working and need wifi, this place will be an issue. It's such a great condo in every way that they should invest in upgrading wifi and the couch mattress. It would be first rate at that point.
