“Great after-catch spot”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

Kody's is always a great place to take your kingfish or redfish for cooking and eating. The fish is always better when you caught it yourself! They have 3 prep choices--fried, blackened and sauteed. We don't care for the fried, but the blackened is great and the sauteed (butter and garlic) is absolutely amazing. Served with nice mixed vegetables and rice. The atmosphere is pure laid-back Port A. Miniature golf and video games in the front can keep kids happy, while sports TV and pool table take care of Mon and Dad.

“Kody's a Local Hangout”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

While staying at the Laughing Horse Lodge, (awesome place btw), Candy (awesome manager of awesome place) suggested we dine (hmmmm) at Kodys. It is definitely a local hangout and food is great. Do not expect atmosphere, it is a dive but clean as a pin. You order food at the bar, and your drinks, you get a number and someone brings the food to your table, they don't really wait on you, I don't think that is allowed:). We went last nite, (WED) for Prime Rib nite and honestly great Prime Rib, huge portion (two can share). Thursday is Hamburger nite and Candy said she and her husband share a burger the size of Texas. Definitely a MUST while relaxing in Port A.

“only thing open”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

I've been here several times and get the same half good half bad.
I always sit at the bar because I can see the whole place from there,.
i looked over the menu and didnt see anything that interested me right away so I ordered a salad and kept the menu.
the salad was fresh and full of good things.
then I ordered a crab cake side dish. It was full of flavors and would have been awesome but it wasn't warm. yup cold crab cakes mean they taste sort of off.
the staff was attentive but drop the ball on that.

“Good food, poor atmosphere”
Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

By the look of the place I wasn't expecting much, but had read some good reviews so off we went. Ordered the garlic fish lunch special at the counter, seated ourselves and soon the meal was delivered to our table piping hot and delicious. The atmosphere of the place was non-existent but honestly the food was really good. Perfectly prepared, the garlic sauce on a generous piece of mahimahi was very memorable and served with wild rice and grilled zucchini for $7.99. We ordered fried asparagus as we had never had it before and it too was very good. Served with a spicy remoulade type sauce for dipping. We would go back for the food. If you want a nicer atmosphere this is not the place though.
