“Local face”
Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

Kodys is a must have every time I'm in Port A. The fried avocado and the seared tuna are a must!!!!!! My husband changes it up every time w the comfort of knowing the tuna and fried avocado are always great. The seafood platter is very good and plentiful. He has had the clams before and said they were pretty good as well. My mom gets their hand burgers every time and there's never anything left over. Needless to say the food is tasty.
Atmosphere is typical beach. If you are looking for something fancy, this is not he place. If you want to catered to at your table, this is not the place. There are a few "up scale" restaurants on the island. If you want a place with a local feeling where you can get good food, have a cold beer, hear some music, and kick back....kodys is the place.
Prices are fair for what you get.

“All you can eat shrimp special!”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Tried Kody's for the first time. Always noticed lots of cars there on Wednesday nights. That's when they have their all you can eat shrimp, and they are big shrimp, lightly breaded. It's a low key bar scene type of place where you place your order and the wait staff bring it out to you. They were very busy but made sure they made the rounds to offer you more shrimp. Also got fries (which were so..so) and cole slaw. It's served in a basket, so nothing fancy.

“Good eats”

Food was great! Authentic, flavorful and even the fried items were not overly greasy.

Hope the establishment becomes smoke-free this year

“Great spot for local fare”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

If you are looking for a good local seafood at decent prices, this is the place. Kody's has been around for years in Port Aransas, Texas. They started off as a bar near the beach. About three years ago, they changed location and added food to their offerings. The atmosphere is definitely bar-like, complete with the pool table, 24 four person tables and electronic games. It is not a place filled with frills. If you want fancy seafood or gourmet eats, there are other places for you in Port Aransas. If, on the other hand, you want good prices for fried seafood and want a taste of local people and places, this is for you. They have creative dishes like the fried asparagus and crab stuffed jalapenos. We tried both the asparagus and crab stuffed jalapenos which were served with a special sauce. The food was good, in terms of the taste and quantity. Between each of us, we enjoyed the fried shrimp, the crab cakes, hamburgers and fish. Each of us were pleased with what we ordered. The dining area is rustic, even down to the timbers on the wall that they salvaged from buildings damaged in one of the gulf coast hurricanes and neon beer signs.Kody's is not pretentious. They cater to locals and are not fancy by any means. The napkins are paper towels and the floors are unfinished plywood. There is always a constant stream of people here. The specials change daily. Although they offered the mussels diablo, we did not try them but are considering them when we return.

“Local flavor”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

Visiting Corpus over Christmas our selection for Christmas dinner was quite limited. Kody's was open and we chanced it. Order at the bar and the hard working staff brings the made to order food to your table. Our table had the sauteed mahi mahi with rice, seafood platter, fish taco, and had stuffed avocado and peel and eat shrimp as appetizers. Was not disappointed in anything. Lone Star beer washed everything down. Perfect!
