We stayed here during Spring Break and experienced a very good time during our stay. The staff was more than friendly and helpful. The other campers (both short timers and Winter Texans) were very neighborly. Because of the proximity to the beach, expect a little noise from the Spring Breakers. There is a trolley bus stop at the entrance that takes you to all the stops in town for 25 cents. The laundry room is easily accessible. I would stay here again next time on the coast.

A little compassion is needed when someone's partner or spouse suddenly passes and the one left isn't able to keep the reservation! Really...really? Do people often use this as a cancellation excuse? I don't think so! Your staff could be a bit more understanding instead of just reading a policy to someone who just lost their loved one...the very day!
This happend to my friend on 11/11/11. I live in Oregon...but won't be staying at this resort next time we are in Texas!

Nice RV Park. Many season long visitors. They call themselves"Winter Texans". Still room for some short stay folks as we were. Facilities are not new, but well maintained.
The beach is right over the dune. Beach as far as the eye can see.

This place was everything we expected from arrival. Spot was where we were told. Employees helped us get set up, even though we were in a motorcoach (versus a trailer) that is easier to navigate. In addition to the great set up, the office had add'l supplies should you need them, and there is a beach shop and convenience store right down the street. I've seen reviews that the sites were small, but they seemed about the same size you would get at a race or game, actually larger. Each site has a picnic table as well, which is cool, and plenty of available water hoses for washing sand off stuff, etc. There are always wmployees around keeping things under control, but they aren't domineering. We had classic rock, college football on the outside TV, and beer flowing like wine, and everyone was cool with it. Location is right on the other side of the sand dunes - we had no tow vehicle or golf cart, and we were fine. Trolley can roll you into town every hour 5 past for $.25. That's right, a quarter. Wifi was decent for email and web browsing, but if you need to stream a game or something, there are available wifi you can link up to for $3.99/day. Landscaping is lush, and the park is clean. Family friendly, with no shennanigans, Tom Foolery, hi-jinks, or ballyhoo. Golf Course is right nearby, and it's one of the few true "links" courses you'll find in the US. A hidden gem. I actually saw one of the competing parks while golfing, and was so glad we had found little "On The Beach" versus this behemoth park that looked like an Ancira dealership from afar. We recommend On The Beach...unless this review hinders our chances of getting our same spot next Labor Day ;-)

We have stay at On the Beach for the past 3 years. We enjoy the park and the people we run it, hope to get back this year. This is a very small, older park as the owner have already stated. But the owners have been and still work very, very hard to improve it. Yes there is only one shower room but most people have full motorhomes with bathrooms, shower and all you need. The have outside showers so you can take the sand off when you return from the beach. It does not have big fancy sites but work hard at keep the grass green. If you want a fancy resort typy park go down the road and hike to the beach over the sand dunes. But if you want a friendly park where they know your name and you are right on the beach plus a trolley stop right there you will enjoy on the beach. By the way our car was hit by a hit and run driver we do not blame the owners we blame the driver that stay around, Oh yes one other thing those that are mad at the charge for a bathroom key it is a way to stop everyone walking up from the beach from using it.
