“Well-kept beach”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

This beach is cleaned by the city, paid for by the cost of the permit you must buy to drive on the beach. We were always able to find a parking space and had plenty of room to run around. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash. Just walking around and wading in the surf we found a whole sand dollar and a live starfish in some seaweed. It was a great week at the beach.

“Trip to Port Aransas”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Port Aransas is sitting on the Texas Gulf Coast. It is located north of Padre Island and is one of the longest barrier islands along the Texas coast. The main attraction in Port Aransas is the beach. It is a great beachfront vacation spot. The tropical weather makes Port Aransas perfect for year around Texas vacations. Experience coastal cuisine at its finest. The jetty offers an excellent spot for fisherman and birdwatchers. You can see brown pelicans, gulls, and other seabirds, numerous ships coming into port .Of all the things to do in Port Aransas; one of the biggest attractions is fishing. Fresh seafood, served in more ways than you can imagine. It can be ordered from restaurants scattered throughout the city. It provides a great family vacation opportunity and some of the finest fishing in South Texas.

“a nice walk”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

There was plenty of on-sand parking and we thoroughly enjoyed walking along this beach ... not too many people about as the wind was cold even though a beautiful sunny winter day. As well as the peaceful view of the waves rolling in, we could also see the big ships entering the channel - that close and they seemed huge! There were quite a lot of shells, and we did find two whole sand dollars amongst the bits and pieces of even more, and saw a variety of birds ... including a flock of Black Skimmers which we were quite pleased to find.
Due to being off-season, none of the beach cafes were open but we brought a picnic lunch. Additionally, the public toilets were nearby and open, so there was never any rush to leave and go elsewhere.

“Nice beach, not too crowded”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

We went in November, small crowds and nice temperatures. The sand was nice but we didn't find too many shells, maybe the time of year.

“Pretty nice for a Texas beach!”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

I've been here twice in four months! This is one of the cleanest beaches I've been to...minimal trash, great sand (not that rocky, pebbly stuff like Galveston), the waves are pretty reasonably (I didn't feel like I was going to drown), and it's very dog friendly. I've been during the heat of the summer and in the fall. We took the dogs both times and we all had an awesome adventure.

Small warning...we saw a LOT of jellyfish along the beach when we went in November, so be careful when walking barefoot or with your pets and/or kiddos. I didn't notice any during the summer but there were a lot (some very large) that had washed up when we went in the fall.
