The beach was relaxing, breezy, and fun. We had a great time there and the ability to park right by the water (with a $12 parking permit) was a great benefit.

The real drawback to this beach was the overwhelming amount of seaweed encountered. There should have been more work done to remove it, as it was filled with all kinds of trash and man-o-wars.

That being said, we were able to find a solid two acres of unclaimed beach during the week, which gave a sense of privacy or at least a lack of annoyance from inconsiderate beach-goers. The sand is outstanding for sculpting and playing!

We drive from Waco to Port A about 2-3 times a year. Great place to be, before spring break and the holidays hit. Gets very crowded fast! Beaches do have quite a bit of seaweed and rotting jelly fish along with trash left by previous weekenders. As for dining Trout Street Bar & Grill & Castaways are the best placed to dine. Shopping is everywhere you turn. Morning walks along the beach are beautiful. And the sunsets are equally inviting to watch. Enjoy the slow paced atmosphere it has to offer. Worth the trip.

We were there May 31- June 4.
A lot of seaweed, not too crowded.
It was great! Pretty clean, rent your beach buggy from Brons beach carts and keep your car clean!

We had no problem finding a good parking space over memorial day weekend, lots of seaweed washed up on the beach. Water was warm but not very clear.
