I had read reviews about enjoy the seaweed, embrace the see weed! It's part of nature! Let your children poke around in it and all the wonders trapped inside. Well we didn't pok around in it because on the surface we could see all manor of trash and pieces of dead fish and birds tangled in in.

The area is the best Texas has to offer. Great beaches, great people, great places to eat. If you come to Texas you need to come here!

We did a lot of walking on this clean, nice beach. This was our second trip to the area, so we were not surprised, but happy it is still being kept up so well. We were there during the week, so it was not busy. The people are friendly, the shells are fun to find, and it is a very relaxing, calming place to be. You do need to buy a permit at a convenience store or at the beach to park on most areas, but it is definitely worth it.

Ocean is great. Lots of clean sand. Thrilling pelicans flying in long lines. I'd advise going early in the morning when fewer people are out. it's very family friendly and later in the day you'll see lot's of folks jogging, building sand castles, etc.
