My biggest complaint has nothing to do with the hotel itself, but the city of Plano. Half of the street signs are either missing or washed out to the point that one cannot read them or know where you are at any given point. That said, the hotel was tucked away and difficult to find; I had to call for help as the navagation system was useless and maps weren't any better.

Once I got there I found a very attractive, well maintained facility with nice sized rooms and comfortable bedding. It was very quiet despite being so close to a major freeway. Amenities nearby are almost overwhelming...almost every chain store and restraunt you can think of are nearby. It's also relatively close to the Southfork Ranch for you Dallas fans.

I stayed at this hotel for the first time in Nov. to be near a customer. Has a lot of things close by (restaurants, walmart target, etc.). They also have a membership with Bally's Fitness, which was particularly important to me.
It is a typical holiday inn express. Service was good. Rooms were nice. I think it used to be a higher level holilday inn, because it has a number of banquet rooms.
There are two other hotels accross the street. One was not very appealling looking and was empty. The other is probably newer but much smaller.
I am going back twice in the next couple of months and I plan to stay there again.

I visted family in Plano, Texas for the Christmas holidays and booked a room for two nights in the Holiday Inn Express because of the location. Although I did not spend much time in the hotel, the time I was there was an unpleasant experience.

Both nights the noise from the elevator as it moved up or down the elevator shaft disturbed my sleep. My room was located on the second floor and I could hear the noise everytime the elevator moved.

During my second night at this hotel when I returned to my room after midnight, my room had not been cleaned. The room was in the same condition as I left it. The bed was not touched, dirty towels were in the bathroom just as I left them. It was clear that no one from the hotel had entered the room while I was away. I notified the front desk and was informed I would have to speak to a Manager in the morning. No one offered to send clean towels or anything else. When I checked out the next morning, I spoke with a representative of the hotel who proceeded to suggest that I was somehow at fault for the failure of her room service staff to clean the room. She suggested that I had placed a DO NOT disturb sign on my door, which I had not. After much fruitless discussion I checked out, returned home vowing never to return to this Holiday Inn Express hotel.
