“Molto Bene!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2012

The place looks the same as it did when I first dined at Covino's in 1997. Joey "C" is the owner and one of the most gregarious hosts you'd ever want to meet. He won't hang around and bug you, he just wants you to know he's glad you're here and everything's molto bene. If you're a hockey fan, Joey Junior is a former pro hockey player and runs a tight ship. The abruzzi bread, buffalo shrimp and chicken fetuccini are some of our favorites. The different cheese cakes are excellent but our favorite dessert is the cappuccino pie. The coffee's good too. Joey keeps it cool in the summer time and the music is always good. Sit back, relax in a family festive atmosphere and enjoy yourself. BYOB

“Did I enter the wrong restaurant?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2012

Based on positive reviews my family and I decided to try Covino's and BYOB is a criteria for us in choosing restaurants in our area.
Decor: small, crowded - dumpy entrance
Food - medocre at best. I took one bite of the calamari (which was undercooked) and spit it out. Oil too old?
I ordered eggplant parmigiana, took two bites and asked for a 'to go' box - the sauce was bland and the eggplant too thick for my taste. My son and husband did not like their food either.
Plus, we were charged 1.50 for a corkage fee when our wine did not have a cork, rather a screw top which I unscrewed and I also poured the wine. When I inquired as to why we were charged it was because of the 'wine glasses'. Really?
Service - deplorable

Like I wrote on their tablecloth - "first time, last time'

“Good hole in the wall Italian place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2012

Portion for the value can't be beat. Their calamari is a must order! The restaurant is tiny and located in the corner of a strip mall. Its decor is less than desired, but the food is good!

“A real, family owned & operated neighborhood favorite”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2012

This restaurant is one of those hidden gems that you'll probably never see in a guidebook.
It's small and tucked away in the corner of a strip center but as the lines outside in the waiting area, the food is worth waiting for. There really is a Covino @ Covino's---Joe is usually in the kitchen when he's not on the small seating area talking with his loyal customers and his daughters are either running the cash register or waiting tables. The food is obviously made from family recipes using only fresh ingredients. It's BYOB so bring along your favorite wine and a couple of friends and enjoy the atmosphere of happy people eating delicious, inexpensive, real Italian food.

“Great neighborhood restaurant - quality food, great service and atmosphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2012

Covino's is a staple for many that live in this area and beyond - it gets very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings and on nice weather days the patio is often filled with folks enjoying their byob bottles of wine before dinner. The service is consistently friendly and welcoming, the items that stand out of the food includes: buffalo bacon wrapped shrimp with stuffed blue cheese; brescole; any of the home made pizzas and the linguine clam sauce. All together a winner of a location recommended for families and excellent casual Italian dining.
